You put it well, and I agree....

There's always that "where did THAT trade come from?" possibility, something to round out the roster. Me, for example, I wouldn't mind an Al Horford for the 4-5, but I don't think Atlanta's ready to cash in all their chips just yet and start over, and Les is looking for a TV star on the team.

that;s actually not a bad idea. He would get 12-15 minutes a game, would cost around minimum( we could give him around 1.5-3mil for one season since we got cap), he is expereinced, energetic guy. Besides he would be good in training as it appeas atm we have one true center and he is not injury prone.

I find that when he's out there, he distracts me from watching the basketball game.

    Omer Asik/Josh Harrellson/Donatas Motiejunas
    Patrick Patterson/Terrence Jones/Royce White
    Chandler Parsons/Marcus Morris
    Kevin Martin/Jeremy Lamb
    Jeremy Lin/ Shaun Livingston

plus 3 IR slots: JaJuan Johnson, Greg Smith, Diamon Simpson?

Amazing with the sheer number of signed players, the Rockets have holes on that roster. I do not see a backup 1. Douglas is a shoot first 1, that I can see DM not liking and releasing. Machado aint signed. Livingston is meh but could provide backup minutes at the 1 and 2 and maybe 3, that is if he makes the team.

That leaves rookies and lightly experience backups for the 2-5 positions. All except for Harrellson are prospects that the Rockets need to develop, so signing a vet would only take minutes away from them.

Thus, the Rockets could replace Livingston and Harrellson with better vets. Replacing Harrellson might mean less minutes for Motiejunas though.

The three IR/D Leagues spots could stand an upgrade. JaJuan Johnson might be the only lock there.

I say we should give Greg Oden a try. My thought is, why not? What do we have to lose? It could be a big reward type thing.

    I picked Gee and Oden...

I like Gee I mean he isnt a bad player he obviously isn't a gamechanger but he could be decent and Oden because for the right price there is little risk with a potentally big reward if he stays healthy but unfortunately no body knows if he can do that.

Two that make sense are probably not going to happen (Gee, Oden).

IIRC Gee is a RFA that Cleveland doesn't seem inclined to let go just yet.

Oden has stated that he wants to play for the Heat.

Fesenko would be an ideal target IMHO. Good PER and depth in the frontcourt.

F/C Derrick Caracter is another interesting candidate.

Seriously? This guy may as well be radioactive. I don't think anyone would look to add him if there is any truth regarding that investigation or any pending criminal charges.

Write me down for another Greg Oden advocate. If he can play great. If he goes down with another injury then so be it. I can't believe he's only 24 and Ray Lewis with a basketball is 28 already.

DeAndre Liggins and Jody Meeks would be the best choices!

Starting with this list, 1) we need a backup C, and 2) I don't think we'd cut JaJuan Johnson. There are some guys he plans on getting via trade. Once DM's done with Howard, I expect to see some rooks traded away, not to mention players like PPatt and Morris.

Same Young, prime 2-way player. Can fit the offense perfect, plays with his big boy pants on, isn't fragile on defense, can dunk with power, can shoot from range, play 2 guard, play sf, rebounds well.

    Meeks good. .551 TS%. 5.4% Turnover %. Very efficient!

Meeks, Liggins, Jones, Patterson, Harrellson = greatest!
