They will. Give it a little time, they just went to L.A. recently.

Since no one knows where this is going (including Morey and the front offices of the Magic and Lakers) I am just going to have to be patient. The only thing we know for sure is that by this time next year we will have a conclusion to this mess. Or am I being to optimistic?

What's ridiculous about having a preference where you live/work?

Because he's in a trade situation, he's not a free agent and I'm sick of him trying to manipulate the press and everyone else to satisfy his desires.

You know that feeling you get when you find out that you're the 1st superstar "victim" of the new CBA? Yeah, Dwight has that feeling right now. No more home team max sign and trades, no more sign and trades with teams in luxury tax, etc.

Exactly. He should have opted out and waited his turn like LBJ did if he wanted to have ANY say in this matter.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to try to force your way somewhere when you chose to pass on the freedom to choose.

Its ok to have a prefernace ofcourse, but its not ok to DEMAND where you play

I for one am not worried what the hell comes out of his agents mouth or his for that matter, it was just a couple of weeks back where LA wasnt on his wish list.

Its very easy right now to "demand" where youd rather be traded, but lets be real how easy is that decision going to be when we have a 116 million dollar contract ready for him at the years end (assuming we trade for him)

Lets remember the only reason he opted in for his final contract was MONEY. That is IT. Plain and simple, he could have easily been a Brooklyn Net right NOW , especially with lopez being a FA and all, but he wanted that extra 30 million hoping ORL would trade him instead of just signing with them outright.
Iam pretty sure thats the "promise" he was whining about orlando breaking too, btu what do i know right.

Furthermore, its obvious he doesent want to come to houston 100 percent, but its also obvious he wants the MAX he can get, he would not have went back to that ****ty situation in Orlando if that wasnt the case.

Morey knows this probably better than anyone, and IMO his STRONG desire for not wanting to play here is just HELPING....that just means we are gonna give up less and less, while also enticing him with better players to play with.

So lets do the Math for a sec...More pieces,More cap room, More money...we will have those advantages over every team in the NBA and you still think hed walk? pffffft....if this was poker i would have taken him all in the second Brooklyn were out of the picture...just my 2 cents

The CBA was just a teeny bit different when LBJ skipped town.

I cannot hate on a guy for wanting a max contract in his preferred location.

Any of you would try to do the same.

Who the hell else is going to look out for #1?

Which is what he did at the trade deadline last year. He failed, and should have opted out if he wanted BK that badly.

I don't think it's pretty ridiculous considering the amount of money he would have had to forfeit.

He's trying to do what is best for himself, and that makes him a bad guy how?

    What does he owe anybody...?

He wouldn't get a max deal if he opted out.

Hence the "he failed." It was at that point that he should have given up on either Brooklyn or a max deal.

That's stupid. You're mad at him for not giving up on trying to get what is best for himself?

    Nothing whatsoever wrong with that.

The problem is that the system has trade-offs. Players are free to choose from the destinations that are available to them as soon as they have fulfilled their current contracts. Alternatively, there is a financial incentive built in if they choose a situation that benefits their current employer's interest. They are free, however, to forgo that incentive and move to another situation if they prefer.

The problem with Howard is that he wants it both ways. His naive sense of entitlement leads him to believe he deserves max money and complete control of his destination. That is what turns people off. He is not a victim of the system. He behaves like a child.

I have no problem with the team you've built. It is a nice team. But if you do have the superteam already constructed why trade anything for an older Howard coming off back surgery? I'll tell you why. Because in 3 years you will be rebuilding...either way. Only rebuilding around Howard keeps the ring chasers coming. Rebuilding around Bynum (assuming he can still play in 3 years which is a HUGE assumption) is not as enticing. Personally I think you will be scraping the bottom again in 3-4 years because Nash, Pau, Kobe AND Bynum will be retired.

I wish you all well to knock out the Heat for the next couple of years. But I don't want to help you in ANY way to keep the machine running after that. Doing so only makes our hill climb even higher.

Trying to get the maximum benefit for yourself is not childish, it's business.
