Well my point is that There is absolutely no reason for Dwight to accept a sign and trade, and it would be incredibly stupid of Orlando to hope for that.

Lakers have NOTHING to offer. The Rockets would be the ones giving up all the pieces and it'd be just a Howard for Bynum trade. Now you tell me, who'd be crazy enough to do that?

As far as half the posters on this board are concerned, it is either Dwight Howard or bust. These guys all want to take a gamble... or rather, they want Morey and the owner to take a gamble. Also, according to them.... "no one leaves 30 million on the table....".

Further, a significant portion of folks here do not want to make the Lakers better.

I really wonder if many of them actually and objectively have the best interests of the franchise at heart or are just going on emotion......

Well Orlando doesn't seem to want what is on the table.

From them it's like "Lets hold onto them and see what else pops up." Cleveland may change their mind in the middle of the season and offer more...maybe Houston will.

All they risk is losing Dwight, which they seem to have lost any ways. They gain more by taking this risk though and it doesn't matter because either way they will be in full rebuild mode.

I would rather go with our youngsters than Bynum.

They could have had all three picks at the draft if they wanted. They ain't getting that now. Probably wouldn't know what to do what those draft picks anyway. Now, they'll be lucky to one of our draft picks for Dwightmare.

Orlando is begging for someone to come with a better deal, or they are just stalling until the pre-planed deal is announced. Free pub is fee pub. IMO,o The deal is done just waiting for the date when all players to be included can be included.

I was all in the Howard camp, but the guy is so sketchy. Maybe Bynum is a better choice see:

Is Dwight Howard a better option than Andrew Bynum?

Pretty sure we'd keep all of our key young players if we get Bynum.

Would take less. We'd help Orlando with a contract, Maybe give them Morris and Jones and Martin or something.

It seems to be a small risk (his knees) big reward type of thing. If he's healthy he's 2nd best by far and still super young.

Just assuming though, Orlando could want too much. They obviously expect too much from Houston for a possible rental. So they could still want too much to facilitate Bynum to us. Guessing it would be cheaper though.

As an aspiring GM I would trade his ass yesterday to the rockets for the assets morey has collected and wouldn't give a flying flip what Howard thinks feels or wants. Its not about what he wants!! This is bigger than him and he doesn't understand that...I would make him though. No fear .....Ethernet rockets would have him by now because the longer this plays out the leashes (Howard) is worth...he is an asset to believe it or not.

I'm hoping this is the deal we're offering to Orlando right now straight up for Howard.

There will not be a better deal of Martin/Morris/Jones/Dal pick/TOR pick.

The more this crap drags on, the more I do not want this guy. I'd almost rather go with our rookies and new PG/Center for the next 3 years and try to build. If a trade comes along, make it and move forward.

To many people want this blockbuster deal to make the Rockets relevant again. It takes time to build a contending team and when you get there, you are there for years. It doesn't happen overnight like so many impatient people want it too.

I personally think it is Howards Agent (Dan Fegan) that doesn't want Howard here because he knows Morey will own his ass when it comes to negotiations. If that is the case, then screw both of them and move on. If Howard can barely run right now, who says he will be close to the same he was last year?

Morey needs to build this team as he has been doing and forget about Howard. If Orlando ends up giving us Howard for Kevin Martin, Patterson, Jones or White and the Toronto/Dallas pick then take the risk. I would try to keep that Toronto pick if possible but you gotta take risk to get some gains. If Orlando wants more, then let them sink their own boat and move on.
