Tony Mejia: Houston's been most amenable to a rental, but with no guarantees, balking at what it would take to pull deal off. Howard-LA interest mutual. 4 minutes ago

Good to see that the reason why we haven't gone all in is because we still want a guarantee! The question now is whether it is worth Bynum to hook up the Lakers for years to come.

Have you been closing your eyes when you visit here the last 6 months? He can't get the money through S&T in the new CBA. It's identical to signing outright somewhere else. He also wouldn't be able to go to either LA or Brooklyn. They'll both be over the LT.

    Yes.

    I don't see why not.

Lakers are not a rival to the Rockets. Half of my family are Laker fans, I know many Laker fans...they don't give a ____ about Houston. Not that they see them as irrelevant, but most respect the franchise if anything.

The real rivals for this team are and always will be the Jazz and the Mavs.

Get Bynum and we'll be better than those teams for a long time coming. Depending on his knees of course...

Please, for all those who constantly worry about Morey giving up too much, read the bolded part.

    That's not happening.

Morey is excellent at understanding VALUE. If he doesn't get a guarantee Howard will re-sign here, he won't "give up the farm".

We simply move on without him if Morey can't get him at the right price.

I think Morey just waits till Hennigan caves. And I think he will.

I'm guessing that that is one of the things Hennigan was hoping he could get from the meeting - or at least some commitment to be open to it.

It's really pathetic. I don't blame the Magic either. He seems I'll prepared and very scared.

He gave Jameer Nelson a $25 million contract. 8 million a year!! He obviously doesn't have a clue what he's doing.

Putting Bynum with these rookies would solidify this team. Plus, he said he would resign here. Contention would not be far behind.

This ain't even about Brooklyn or LA.

Again. I know he can't go to those teams in FA. This is about the Dallas Mavericks.

C'mon Morey, this is a great GREAT opportunity to snatch up Andrew Bynum. Forget that loser Howard...he sucks at free throws anyway. Bynum, to some people is a BETTER player!! Let's do the deal and make Lakers take on the huge contracts....let's make history..this is ONCE in a life time opportunity....don't miss it!! Bynum will change the franchise....He and Lin are still young. We don't have to give up the farm....just enough...play smart and do the deal right now because the Magic GM is frustrated with Howard today. Let's go big boy....make the franchise proud again. Our rookies are just rookies....we need a real solid superstar....hell, we don't really know if the rookies are going to become great or not because ANY rookies that come into this league is going to take a couple years to develop into greatness...even Kobe and Lebron take a couple years. Let's get a better opportunity and make the deal right now.

I HATE the Lakers as much as I hate Jazz, Mavs. I'd say my hate mainly stems for the Laker fans

This is true, you only live once. But what does this have to do with the young guys?
