i know, but the reasoning behind it is unclear. It seems to encourage spamming instead of fixing simple mistake (e.g. spelling). Also, i'd often write a post and minutes later want to add another point or link etc. In other forums, I'd just edit and keep it in one place. Here, you have to spam. It's weird. I can understand restrictions on forum 'rookies', but in this case it seems completely counter productive.
I was thinking of a trade with Denver. Denver receives: M. Morris S. Williams Houston receives: K. Koufos Future 2nd We need a big behind Asik and D-Mo would serve better at the four. Koufos has 3 years left @ 3mil per so it is a good contract. He could net you 5ppg and 5rpg in 10 to 15 min a night and he is big @ 7' 265lbs. Denver has McGee and Mozgov so Koufos is just insurance for them. They might be attracted to Morris' potential. Later I will come up with a second trade to remove P-Pat for maybe a back up SF which would allow D-Mo and Jones to man the four.
Depending on what we give up in a possible Howard trade, what about going after Wilson Chandler? He'd be a nice replace if Lamb or Parsons were included in a Howard deal.
It's fair. If it gets the site more money to keep it running, fair enough. That said, I suspect that it's not the best strategy. Limiting search function makes sense; adding an extra ad for rookies makes sense. But editing improves quality of posts/forum (even if by a little), and therefore user experience for everyone, and it's not something of a deal breaker (in terms of to pay or not to pay). So it seems counter productive. rookies typically come from other spaces of the internet, where they learn how to think and post. on the other hand, correlation between a number of posts and quality is something that needs to be proven.
Trade 1 Howard, Jrich, Duhon for Martin, Lamb, Raptor pick, Dallas pick, Morris, Douglass, Brockman, Charlotte 2nd and one NY 2nd Trade 2 Wilson Chandler for T.Jones (when restriction has passed, expirings and unguaranteed contracts (Livingston, Harrelson, Smith), 2nd rd pick(s) The nuggets need to shed some salary for next season if they want to give Lawson what he will warrant. Chandler is buried behind Gallo and Affalo and they could afford parting with him especially when Brewer and Fornier still there. They get cap space and Terrence Jones who would be nice for them. Lin/Duhon Parsons/Richardson Chandler/White Ppat/Dmo Howard/Asik Still a young team with potential to get a lot better.
I may be late to this party, but I just read a Sekou Smith article on NBA.com that says the Minnesota Timberwolves' courtship of Small Forwards spells trouble for Derrick Williams. Any interest in him if indeed on the block?
well it's clear as day he's not a SF, he's only been good as their backup P&R/P&P PF. Sure he's interesting, he has All Star potential, but the Rockets have nothing of interest to the Wolves.
No, we don't need more tweeners. His ceiling is very low, and his price is probably too high since they spent the second pick on him just a year ago.
it depends on what you consider 'very low', IMO. Scola level? a bit higher maybe. he was a young Antawn Jamison clone until Rubio blew out his knee and that team went to pieces.
Pau Gasol for Martin, Livingston, Ppat, Morris, and the Charlotte 2nd rd pick. Takes us out of the Howard drama, but we'd still be a very solid group with a ton of young guys. Gasol's contract is bad, but what else are we using that money on in the future? His contract is off the books around the time contracts re-ups come around. Guys like Donatas and Jones could benefit from playing behind (and in some lineups with) Gasol for a year or two. Gasol is also a much better compliment to Asik and is a nice piece in McHale's P&R system. We also get rid of redundant guys like Morris and Patterson. Lin/Douglas Lamb/X Parsons/White Gasol/Dmo/Jones Asik Probably could nab that 6-7th spot in the West. Hopefully that wouldn't be our ceiling.
Im pretty its been stated over and over that White is a PF not a SF. Jones has the versatility to play 3,4, and in extreme cases the 5. White is to slow to stop a 3 defensively. Only way there would be interest would be if in a Howard/Bynum trade left us with both Martin and Lamb, while leaving a backup SF or PF spot open. Correct me if i'm wrong, but they did trade away their starting SG, Wesley Johnson, and currently only have 1 legit SG on the roster. And i dont even know if you could consider Roy a legit SG right now until he proves he's healthy. If Roy goes down they will be left with starting ridnour at the 2 like last year, and we all know how that worked out. We could probably flip Martin and the Dallas pick for Williams. Wolves are definitely down on him, otherwise they wouldnt have tried to signed Batum to a HUGE offer sheet, eventually matched, and recently signing AK-47. Burying Williams even further than last year. I would say they are pretty close, but Gallo will start over Chandler bc thats what Karl and the Nuggets did for the last 30 games of the year last year when they both played together.
Alexey Shved and Martell Webster. Shved may take time -- or maybe not, his style is much better for the NBA than Europe. But Webster is better than Wesley Johnson anyway, so it's not a big issue. Also, Rubio-Ridnour wasn't so bad. Not ideal, but better than playing Wesley Johnson at 2. It's when Rubio got injured that the wheels came off. I wouldn't say they are down on him. I'd say they are just coming to their senses and going away from using combo 3/4s at SF. If you have two bears in the frontcourt, why would you want a player whose one of the main strengths is as the pick man in the P&R. He was awesome as an active PF next to either Love or Pekovic or Anthony Randolph. Not so much when limited to perimeter. But they are still very high on him. They offered him for Harden and the #2 pick (MKG, Beal or Barnes, presumably), that's it. They refused to give him up in a Batum S&T. I don't think they go near to Martin+Dallas pick. If you offered something like Lamb+Raptors pick, it may be closer in value, although they don't seem to be looking for projects and unknowns. I just don't see the Rockets as a good trade partner there. You don't have what they want, and you aren't going to overpay for a PF. this. i don't think Chandler is better, although it's close. Gallo is also younger, longer, more upside. That said, Chandler will play a major role, as long as they find enough money to keep them all.
Al Jefferson. I don't have a specific trade in mind for him, but I was wondering three things: 1) Would Utah be open to trading for him? They have a pretty deep frontcourt, so I thought they might be. 2) What would it take to get Al Jefferson? I was hoping we could get him without losing Lamb AND Martin (probably would have to lose Martin for salary matching). 3) Would Al Jefferson be a good fit for the Rockets? My thinking on this is that he could be placed at the 4 and allow Asik to fully earn his salary at Center. Jefferson can consistently be the force on offense in the post, provided we don't go after Dwight or Bynum.
