But you also have to have the sense to realize that unless you're getting one of the other two guys in the top 3, you're going to be taking a step back. Also, there's little sense in holding so firm that you watch the suitors walk away.

The deals aren't getting better, they're getting fewer. Henngian is putting the noose around his neck right now.

what these guys dont get it is that the rockets are not going to give everything away to get him bc of the risk of him leaving but he is well worth the gamble ... what these people forget is the similar risk sacremento took in bringing chris webber to a place where no nba player wanted to be and they did it despite the fact that webber let it be known he would not resign.... well he did and they became a really good team that would have won the championship if it wasnt for a rogue ref.

Do we know that? Lot of speculation there. The Nets are out of the picture, but they were never a realistic option. The Rockets and a 3-way involving Bynum were seemingly always Orlando's best options. They're still very much on the table and will be for most of this offseason. If Hennigan thinks there's any chance he can patch things up with Dwight and not take that step back, I can't blame him for trying to do that first. If he thinks other teams may try and get involved and potentially put more leverage on Houston/LA, that makes sense, too.

What has his agent said about anything, other than the quote about not signing an extension anywhere (which is common sense)?

    Nothing.

I can tell that you are a little disappointed as well...I am hoping for the best as well. I just want to have one player that I can really rally behind. I just miss the stars and winning basketball. The NBA is a stars league now more than ever.

    lol..wut?

This isnt a court case and DH isnt on trial but if he was and a prosecutor says DH was guilty and Dwight knew he wasn't guilty, I would think Dwight and his defense attorney would refute that and say he is in fact NOT guilty and we will prove it.

They would then continue on from there until a jury verdict.

If the news says DH's agent said such and such....and DH's agent represents DH....it's safe to say that DH agrees with his mouth piece.

If he didn't...he would fire him....or at the least release a statement saying he never said that.

    Has he done that?

    Just a question.

    Say that again.

    Louder, though.

Scare tactics are used for a reason.

If we were the Nets, they wouldnt be saying none of that.

    Why would they say that?

We can talk him into playing here, right?

    I know we can!

Why would his agent say such terrible things?? :(

Wrong. It's the smart thing to not sign an extension anywhere. I'm pretty sure that even if Dwight was traded to the Nets, he would not sign an extension. He wants to get the most money, and signing an extension will not give him the money he can get by resigning.

J.R., Fryeball, and bri are right. He NEVER said that he would not sign an extension in HOUSTON. He said he would not sign an extension ANYWHERE. He said that he would not sign an extension anywhere. Done. That doesn't mean he won't resign thought. He wants to go into free agency so he can grab the most money possible.

Well I mean...YOU said his agent said Dwight will not extend with ANY team, right?

Why do I need to link up what you said?

I personally think its terrible, though. :(

It's terrible that Dwight doesn't want to extend with anyone (all of a sudden) and will test the FA market upon completion of his contract regardless of who he is traded to (lmfao)

    We need that star, man!

Bucher always says the things I don't want to hear and I hate him for that! He's a HACK!!!!

    I blame Stern.

    I blame the refs!

You're a riot. From your very last post:

If we were the Nets, they wouldnt be saying none of that.

    In that very link.

"Dwight's position has remained unchanged since the end of this past season," said Dan Fegan of LaGardere Unlimited. "He fully intends to explore free agency at the end of next season, regardless of what team trades for him, including Brooklyn."

    Want to try again?

Lakers start contract extension talks with Bynum today for Max Money!! Guess they arent willing to wait on Orlando like 98% of other teams.
