An article on ESPN about Jeremy Lin talking about the haters and criticisms he faces... Lock if Posted http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...ockets-jeremy-lin-says-always-always-doubters
That Forbes article was a load of crap as many people pointed out that not even a single NY athlete is in the upper echelon of earnings. If Lin wants to make money, he can do that just as easily here since his marketing power is more on the international side anyway.
J Lin is a class act. I respect him for admitting his problems instead of hiding it and acting like he's perfect.
He had the Big Apple eating out of his hand....few people can go thru such an experience and remain humble... You have to give respect where respect is do!
He says he struggles with pride everyday, which makes me respect him even more. It's not like he doesn't feel it, he chooses to fight it. My favorite thing about Lin....his age. Dude is almost a rookie himself, and should continue to get better. How much better? Rockets are gambling that it's a lot. We overpaid for Lin as a current player, but so many people got wrapped up in Linsanity that they aren't rational in their thinking about Lin as a player. Showed great promise last year.....let's hope he's the real deal. On top of that, he doesn't hurt the Rockets branding, and he's another "good guy" type that many of us appreciate. I love the way our young team is shaping up. I hope we don't get D12, unless it's a total steal, or Morey knows he'll stay.
Just watched the behind the scenes video of Lin and his interviews, you guys noticed he said thank you and shook peoples hands everywhere? Pretty sure a good % of NBA "stars" don't do that. I really think he has good morale character and has the drive to be better. We'll see how he does but I definitely think he has the potential to thrive here.
He might not know it yet but leaving NY was the best thing for him.....NY is a lot more liberal than H-Town and I don't think he would flourish there (in every aspect) like he can here....
Yep! Can you imagine him playing in a decadent liberal place like Austin, Portland, San Francisco or Amsterdam? He would soon be a left-leaning, atheist, pot-head, and possibly even a hipster. No worries now!
