I think the biggest issue with a young team is the lack of respect they will get FROM THE REFS This is what will determine the number of wins No one is saying it. . but the REAL reason to get a superstar player is to get some Ref Respect. Cause the overwhelming amount of respect stars get versus regular joes is one of the biggest things that suck about the NBA Rocket River
Agree on this as well... getting to the line is a great way to heat up the team and get some points. Sucks that Kevin Martin doesn't get a lot of respect anymore.
Funny you should say that, because our brand new starting PG and C were among the leaders of DrawFoul% in their respective positions. Granted, Asik is more due to the "Hack-an-Asik" strategy for his poor FT shooting.
Yep ... after flopping this is what I hate most about the NBA.We will no doubt spend a good portion of next season cursing at our tv screens.
When we did get some calls (Kmart), the NBA decided to change the rules so we wouldn't get any calls at all.
even with vets this team would lack ref respect. either Lex or Lt. Van Gundy pissed off the commissar to the point that now the kevin martin rule only applies to kevin martin and not the rest of the divas. I wished the NBA called games like they do in FIBA. I get it though. if they called the game evenly, a diva's ppg avg may drop. Can't have that happening in Stern's world! :insert creepy stern smile:
See I would argue that the REAL reason to get a superstar is to get game changing talent that will help your team score more points while giving up fewer.
The all stars adapt to whatever changes the league makes. Changes happen in the offseason when players can work on their game to adapt. Flopping started because referees were missing calls on fouls and players had to emphasize and dramatize the contact to get the ref's attention. Now players overdo it because it works and it gets your team more points. That is the point of the game. Do whatever the league rules allow to score the most points. If Kevin Durant put on a mask and painted himself to look like Chandler Parsons, he would still find a way to score and give his team a better chance to win the game.
