If we do end up signing him, he will no doubt be used as an asset and dangled as trade bait so that we can unload him and have the cap room to sign another player who can be traded for another player who can be used to possibly lure a superstar to sign here that we can rent for half a season then trade before he signs somewhere else so we can use the cap room to sign some more assets to use as trade bait to get some more expiring contracts to save up cap room to possibly sign another player to trade down the line for a high draft pick which we will trade on draft day for another player to be used to lure a superstar to sign here, blah blah blah.....

You prolly never seen this guy play, and is only basing this because of the team that he plays for.

This team is so far off the pace of being a legit contender and we're talking about Alonzo Gee? Thanks, but no thanks. I have followed him casually for the past 2 seasons and while he is a quick and athletic defender and rebounder, the guy cannot shoot. He'll be an asset off the bench for some team, but he brings nothing that we need.

Gee can drive to the basket. That's one thing the Rockets lacked at shooting guard last year.

Lol. Sam Presti builds a team. Morey collects assets. Of course, having Durant helps but Morey had the chance to unload our superstars before they became worthless.

sam presti's team was like 3-21 or some **** after already drafting durant and westbrook (i think westbrook was drafted by then)

they had 3 HIGH lotto picks pan out really well..and made moves with another lotto pick (jeff green) for a defensive cetner..also had ibaka form into an amazing player.

We don't need him. Our SF position is already packed. We should simply trade Budinger and let Morris develop.

having Kevin Durant, #3 pick James Harden, and #4 pick Russel Westbrook helps you mean?

You're comparing apples to oranges, #2-4 picks is NOTHING like the picks we had. It's much easier to build a team when you're getting that many top 5 players.

I'd trade JaJuan Johnson, John Brockman, Courtney Fortson, and Marcus Morris for Alonzo Gee right now.

If the Cavs land Miles, they might rescind Gee's QO making him an unrestricted free agent, which could turn him into a viable option for the Rockets.

What exactly is his game? Defensive specialist? Would he be happy as the 3rd shooting guard or 3rd small forward?

I think he's an interesting player, but I just dont see how he really fits within what the Rockets are trying to do. Im not sure his upside is that great to take a chance at him in free agency.

Now, if there were not one, but two major trades made that wiped out roster depth then I could see him as a viable picked. Right now though, I just wouldn't understand the pickup.

    According to the report...
"Alonzo Gee does not have much scoring ability
    Wont really look to shoot
Definitely not going to look for his threes
Just an average three point gunner
Can get to the line some
    Average free throw shooter
    Just Adequate from 15-20 feet
Does not get to the hoop often
Can get some post up baskets
    Just adequate in transition
Alonzo Gee is an amazing offensive rebounder
    Solid defensive rebounding ability
Alonzo Gee is a poor passer
    Bad ball handling skills
Alonzo Gee gets an average amount of steals
    Very good shot blocker
Pretty good at stopping open looks
    Solid at stopping dribble penetration
    Post defense is adequate
    Solid defending in transition
    Alonzo Gee has average strength
    Not very quick
Alonzo Gee is not a very good basketball player but can at least make an NBA squad"
