It would be cluttered underneath. Definitely needs a spread 4 next to him. He does not pass quickly or well enough out of the post to scare away weak side double teams. his post moves are not too threatening, but hopefully hakeem can help with that.

I'm a big Morey fan, but let's wait until we get the superstar he's been promising us for years before we make statements like this.

It's been less than a month since the draft and our rookies been in the trade discussions. Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks were on the trade block for the past freaking year. And in a few months if Dwight Howard hasn't been traded yet, they will once again be paraded once again.

So the last team I want the Rockets to emulate is the Nets. At least Morey doesn't let his players know who's actually leaving until trades are completed.

lets see how dwight likes it knowing he's stuck in orlando unless he can open his mind to another few teams.

all these NBA execs are clamoring for his services and he's still pushing for brooklyn when orlando clearly has to involve a third team in order to make that happen.

wake up dwight! your options are limited! lebron beat you to the punch man! ask the knicks how their superteam is working out!

for as good of an nba center as you are - you clearly lack people skills. you've been dragging everyone through this mess for FAAAAARRRR too long.

pretty soon noone will care anymore and orlando will trade you to the bobcats/wizards. and everyone will be happy to see you miserable.

I thought Dmo couldn't be traded for months, can he now be traded on Aug 5th?

Rookies can be traded 30 days after being signed.

So your saying that we can:

    Develop our rookies
Let Martin expire or flip him for someone decent
    Keep our draft picks

    AND

We use all of the above to sell Howard on coming here? Wouldn't we also be able to sign a second max player???

Minny just cleared some cap space. Any chance they could be trying to get Dwight using a package centered on Pekovic, Williams, and other parts? If they wanted to offer that, it would probably be the best package on the table for Orlando.

I'm probably just being paranoid but that is the kind of possibility which worries me, about another team swooping in.

I'm not sure if Minny want to get into this mess. Also I don't think Minny or Memphis pick are more valuable than Toronto pick.

the thing about Minny is that in the list of franchises who have been screwing up for years, they are up there near the top. If Dwighty has no faith in the competence of the ORL GM, and doesnt think HOU can do the necessary things, he is sure as hell gonna LOVE Minny.

Pekovic is looking to get paid next summer. Everyone knows that Orlando's best option is to get a relatively fresh start. Only the Houston Rockets can offer that. The GM gets to pick and choose his own players. They'll surely tank and will get a top pick next summer. With another potential lottery pick..it's a no-brainer for them. See the Cavs and Hornets as reference. They bounced back with franchise players with ease. The Hornets with the help of Stern, of course.

This is why I'm still hopeful this gets done somewhat soon. Maybe after Donuts is available.

D-Mo and Dwight are a wet dream of a front court. Everything wrong with the Lakers front court of Bynum - Gasol is made right with Howard and D-Mo. D-Mo can efficiently work on the perimeter, draw the PF out and either drive, shoot or pass to Howard. IMHO that pairing is 45 ppg and 24 rbg. That pairing might even force the Heat to abandon the LBG point forward lineup that is so deadly.

Fair enough, but let's keep in mind that they already have a good players' coach (irony of ironies), a superstar, and a young guy who could become a superstar. Not a lot of work left for them to do if they get Dwight.

Sure Pek is looking to get paid, that didn't stop New Orleans from taking back Eric Gordon though. Derrick Williams is a 2nd overall pick. That core easily trumps any combination of two of our assets. If Orlando decides they want quality over quantity...

Anyway, it's pure speculation on my part, just pointing out there are scenarios where other teams such as Minny could swoop in.

Doubt it. If ORL preferred Pek and DWill to what is being offered, MIN would have been part of the conversation long ago.

Yep. I am going to be corrected by a capologist, but with Scola's amnesty we have $46 million currently under contract. By my napkin calculation if we take 1 bad contract back from the Magic, we would have somewhere between $12 million to $16 million in cap space next summer. And with the 150% under cap salary rules we would be capable of signing a max free agent. God, Bima is going to go to town on me. LOL.

The bartering between the Rockets and Magic is serious business. Fortunately I believe that Morey holds the upper hand in every way. Morey is a cold, calculating and lethal GM. Howard is a known commodity. Morey will put out a just slightly superior offering for Howard. Any sentence containing Morey and over pay is an oxymoron. I do not see how this can turn out badly for the Rockets.

Several league executives believe Minnesota is pursuing free agent Andrei Kirilenko. He's no longer considering Brooklyn, sources say.
