You come in complaining about this topic, and I simply provide reason for your complaints, and you tell me to chill out? Okay. (yes, I know you're just playing around)

Complaining about Dwight Howard? When has anyone ever heard or read of me complaining about Dwight Howard?

In fact, and you can check this on the innertubes, I even read Chicago bloggers!

This topic has Dwight posts because it became about cyberx's insights on that topic and many others (given his apparent access to certain inside information). It just so happens that people are interested in dwight, funny enough. so we're not really that off topic.

Thx. I fully believe Dwight and his camp are telling everyone he will not re-sign next year. But I also don't believe he has any other choice but to do so to salvage his quickly fading dream (fullcourt described the analysis well on this point). Count me in the camp that believes that, if he is traded to the Rockets, that he will blink first. If NY and LA could offer max offers, I could see him walking. But since our threats are Dal Atl Cle for a LOT less money (as well as less endorsement money once you factor China), I think in the end his will rationalize himself into staying.

cyberx, thanks for all the interesting information you have provided.

Earlier, you implied that Orlando might be pressured to send Dwight to the Lakers rather than directly to Houston, because of the threat that Fegan would blackball the Magic otherwise.

This surprised me a bit because if a team develops a reputation for capitulating to agents, it would seem that eventually all of their player moves would be subject to heavy agent influence.

How much weight do you think such a threat would have? Is it a situation where if Orlando has two roughly equal offers, they would just go with the one that creates less agent friction? Or do you think they would actually choose an offer that was worse for their team to accommodate Fegan?

Just my 2 cents, but if the deals are close then I think the Magic try and make Dwight happy.....however if the Rockets offer is considerably better then I doubt even Fegan would be upset.

That would then bring up the question: In Dwight's eyes which is worse - Houston or Orlando? He might just assume stay in Orlando then be traded to the Rockets - according to Clutch he has made that choice once already.

I doubt Orlando keeps him without an extension.

Howard has really f#cked himself over ... with this. He's stuck going to two places he doesn't want to be Houston or Orlando. Orlando doesn't want him, because his becoming a G#d d@mn cancer and toxic for the locker room/management.

Hasn't given any indications or assurance that he will stay with the Rockets, after the season, yet Houston wants him.

He's not signing an extension ANYWHERE till after the season so he can get the 5 year max. However, might he tell the Magic "look instead of Houston I will give you till the end of the season to put a championship team around me and if you can't you help me get to small list of teams in a S&T next offseason."

Could Orlando strike a deal for Rudy Gay? Maybe M. Ellis? Would that even be enough? Just thinking if he really doesn't want Houston he might can leverage a desperate Orlando into some kind of handshake agreement.

He made the choice because he wanted to buy himself time to get traded to new York (bird rights plus his market). He messed up big time. Now would be the real choice. The good news is I don't think he can extend for more than three years with ORL, and if he promises that he won't walk they won't believe him, so will demand he sign an extension (which he won't).

They've played that game before, and I believe Hennigan is smart enough to realize what a toxic situation it would be to do it all over again. I agree that an extension is pretty much impossible, which is why I think he'll be traded soon.

Sure if Memphis wants Turkoglu and JRich for Gay. ie. Orlando has nothing but Howard, a couple of meh players, little bit of cap space and some bad contracts...nothing that Memphis would want for Gay even though he's overpriced.
