Ugh. Can't believe there are still Pau lovers out there. It's over (thank god) for him being a Rocket.
this kind of thinking makes NO sense to me .. .. trade martin, your leading scorer, so that you can get scoring .. right thts cool you then suggest trade for rudy gay would work bc memphis would supposedly be looking to replace oj mayo .. why would they (if ur thinking is correct) trade to get someone to replace oj mayo only to leave a bigger gap by not having gay...
You should give teebone a break, he's made it clear that he's very busy gallivanting throughout the deepest reaches of the internet learning about conspiracies and the oh-so dreadful blacklist that Daryl Morey has the unfortunate fate of being put on. He doesn't have time to think about the logical fallacy that is trading a player, whose only skill happens to be scoring, for a player that scores.
YAH why on earth would we want a 7 foot guy who averaged 18 points and over 10 boards last year that would absolutely suck

I think the next move should be NO move. I say stand pat with what we have and let Martins contract expire, keep Toronto's pick and build a team with our cap space and rookies.
I pretty much agree with this line of thinking .... I think there are two questions you have to ask: 1) What player is there that can make the same impact on both ends of the court that Howard can. 2) What stars are available? or could become available between now and the Feb trade deadline? The answer to #1 is a short list - Lebron , Kobe , Howard , Bynum , Durant , Love. (I dont think Bynum is as "Good" as the others on this list , but he can have the same type of impact on a game) The answer two #2 is a bit more complicated tho you can scratch Lebron , Kobe and Durant off from the get go. A few other stars may come available between now and Feb .... But I dont believe a guy like Josh Smith , Chris Paul or Iguodala is going to change the dynamics on the court as much as Howard or Bynum. Basically , if you want the combination of defense , rebounding , scoring and star power ..... You have two teams to deal with , your options are limited. If Morey is willing to settle for less than the full bug .... there may be quite a few guy's available in the next 7 months. No need to pull the trigger ....
Go ahead dude make the phone calls and get it done... or stop posting bad ideas that will never happen. zzpot
We aren't making the playoffs with our current squad. A team that either will be in the playoffs or will at least be in the playoff conversation will want a player like Martin at the trade deadline. We'd be dumb not to trade him at that point, be it for a pick, young player or a TPE.
I just want people to stop with all the D12 crap. No one has made any real sense in their posts at all. D12 and his people will go the way of the best money for him and them, and that is that. Can Dwight even play ball right now? Who says he will ever be as good or better than he was yesteryear before his back was F***ed up? Lets go BACK to Tmac and his BACK and then to his Knee! Tmac had a bad back and bad knees and then what? Yao was just too heavy for his feet and bones to hold his weight in the NBA grind but the man had heart and sole until the end! Can you say the same about Dwight? I can't and he has had time to say out load what he wants in front of a mic and camera for a long time. F the D12 drama people and let the time pass on. I'm not sure the man is mentally stable at this time.
Buy the way.. I like your nick. All of these trade ideas and rumors may have merit in points and in time lines.. but in the end, after time passes they are what they are. Hind sight or Corrosive. zzpot.
If Morey fails to land Howard, his next move must be to stand pat and let the young players grow together and build an identity and chemistry. This team is seriously underrated now, even by its own fan base. This team can make the playoffs even without Howard. What this team lacks is only experience and chemistry. Talent wise, we are not worse than teams say Sixers and Pacers as of right now. And with the cap space to throw at one or two big FAs next offseason, this organization is in good shape.
Can't trade Martin. Gotta hold him hostage because his expiring would be the centerpiece of the Dwight deal. Salary-wise he needs to be traded to Orlando to make it even fathomable.
