lol those are the same guys that think Maury acquired Harrelson with the intentions of starting him at center. :p
they also have no idea of the rockets' current cap situation, but what else can we expect from outsiders that relocate to our glorious city because they couldn't get hired back home?

I'm with you that I would love to keep the rooks, but I would also like to see dwight. whatever the outcome, i'll be happy with it.

I didn't really forget him; just think he'll be a solid role player at best. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.

I was more impressed by D-Mo as well. Maybe part of it is the fact that I had seen Lamb many time before the summer league, but scoring in bunches is nothing new for Lamb. I still want to see him overcome more defensive pressure

D-Mo, on the other hand, I had only seen clips and highlights. While I knew about the advanced post moves, there were other facets of his game I was not aware of.

As the article mentioned, his understanding of the pick and roll on offense and/or defense is far beyond what we are used to seeing from today 21 year old bigmen. Likewise, on the fast break. Whether he was backpedaling into the exact position he needed to be to cut off a teams fast break, or seeing an opportunity to start one and run to the hoop on offense. He just knew where to be on defense, and how to find space to work on offense. In a day where big men only dunk, block shots, rebound, and slow down a fast break, these were welcome surprises.

Make no mistake though. These rookies will need time to adjust to real NBA games. Regardless, I liked what I saw.

One of these rookie won't get much playing time next year. We already got a truckload full of forwards, and somebody will have to be the odd man out.

What if we suck? You guys still gonna be around posting about your fandom? I think there's a lot of euphoria because our guys are the all stars of the summer league. A lot of us are hoping that carries over to the pre-season and the regular season. Let's see how they play during the season. If we suck, I'm thinking this place will be quiet. Either that or looking to lynch Murray.... dammit, I mean, Morey.

BTW, I'm not doubting any specific person's fandom. I'm sure many of you will still be here posting (whether it be about your disdain or your patience ... lol).

I think there's going to be some suck for sure -- it seems likely to take these guys a few years to grow into their potential, and even then I don't expect GREATNESS... potentially better than last year's team, though, at some point... just my .02...

If we suck then we get Noel or Shabuzz next year, simple as that. The issue with tanking is you gut your team for crap players, and the owner loses $$$ because nobody wants to watch a losing team.

Well guess what? We gutted our team anyway to get our young guys (average age 22 LOL), and Linsanity should take care of putting people in seats no mattter how badly the team plays. We have the perfect tanking opportunity in front of us should we fail, so IMHO we should take this chance and risk it all on the young guys.

I like our team, and I think this analysis is spot on, even if its made by sbnation. Coming into the draft I had three guys who were gonna be stars in my list, Davis, MKG and Lilliard, and two of those guys blew up this SL. I was also really mad we missed out on John Henson (I certainly would have drafted him over Lamb and just kept Lee instead at the time), and it seems that he's gonna turn out into a stud, probably even a superstar if he fills out his frame in a couple of years. I also had Waiters marked as the biggest fail of this draft after the Cavs picked him without seeing any of his workouts and getting his stats playing at a weak conference (totally useless FO IMHO, Gilbert should fire those bums), and it seems like he's gonna be Tristan Thompson 2.0.

It feels really good to have young guys with potential, I hope we stick with them instead of gettng a DH rental.

    I'm with you......

I'd like to win a few games, but if we can't win it all, I'd rather watch young guys develop than watch has-beens (or never really have beens) take us to a first round exit.

    We already suck.

At least with a young team, we have a better excuse.

There is nothing wrong with a young team sucking if you fully expect that. Personally I like watching a young team grow and develop over a few seasons. I followed OKC diligently when they were barely winning games.

Agree. Don't look at the W/Ls so much, and just watch for little gem plays and watch them grow. It can be fun and less stressful.
