Our offer IS the best. No one else wants to take on a "rental" like we do.

I am NOT - definitely the furthest thing from - a conspiracy theorist. And, I don't buy into any of the talk of a GM being "blacklisted" for not dealing a player to their desired destination. I think many feel the player has much more power than they actually do.

But, hard to wonder how true the "Hennigan going on vacation, possibly at the powers that be's request, to clear his head and not make an emotional decision" (because he was perhaps getting angry and starting to take things personal) talk is.

Either there's nothing to this at all, or he's a thirty year old feeling the pressure of his first and possibly largest ever, deal.

What would he be angry about or why would be start to take things personal.

Cue the "Morey does that to GM's" responses! lol.

But, seriously, is he feeling pressure from somewhere/someone to make a deal he's not happy with (Cleveland/LA again?) when he already knows Morey has the best package available?

We all feel confident what Morey HAS to offer and what he WILL offer (just enough?) is the best package available for what HENNIGAN wants. So, where is the "get away to cool off" stuff coming from? (if in fact it's even true)

    Bingo.

I have no trouble believing cyberx has connections to Dwight and the process. And I have no doubt cyberx has been told a lot of what he is telling here by agents, players, etc. But what cyberx (and many others) don't seem to understand is Dwight doesn't control where he is going unless he wants to stay in Orlando. That's the only thing Dwight can change at this point. Doesn't matter if he wants to go to Hollywood or Brooklyn. Simply doesn't matter. They don't have the best deal on the table for Dwight. We do. And at this point, it's not likely to change.....unless Morey changes it.

Why don't you guys look at this from Morey's and Hennigan's perspectives? What is the best thing for them to do for their franchises?

if you were an insider you'd know that Bynum's knees are gone. I believe you yourself admitted in a one of your "insider" posts that he wants an extension because of the knees. But you as a "fan" think we have only 2 choices...take on Mr Busted Knees or stay the course. Your post now sound more like a lLaker troll saying we really need to take on your busted player so you can upgrade. I'd rather have the 14th pick in the next 10 drafts than help rebuild the Lakers. Bynum will do nothing to help us back on top.

Plus the Rockets really want to get rid of Martin's contract.

Knees are gone? Where is your proof. He just completed a successful injury-free season and put up career numbers. When he got injured they were described as 'freak accidents' with other players falling on him. He now wheres protective knee braces that he doesn't even need but just to be safe. More hyperbole.

You reap what you sow. Dwight could have opted out but didn't. The Magic know this. Even if I were to subscribe to your superstar trade theory Debriz, historically superstars haven't made their teams as angry and embarrassed as Dwight has made the Magic.

Debriz, just curious, are you a Laker fan? Doesn't make your opinion less valid, I just want to know.

I heard the doctor on the radio podcast talk about how it concerns him that Bynum went to Germany or wherever to get the procedure done that Kobe had done.

I understand why that would concern someone, but could it also be a "preventive maintenance" type situation?

If I'm Kupchak and Buss, I strongly ENCOURAGE him to go have it done, regardless of whether or not his knees are "ok" at this stage of his career.

The fact he's had some knee issues in the past as well the knee history of many big men his size may have led to the organization and/or him wanting to do it (even though they're may not be anything wrong at this time).

Taking on Bynum at max is a huge risk given his past and his size. I just don't see him lasting through our rebuild.

How did he exactly embarrass the Magic?

Look at what has actually happened while he has been in Orlando. They failed to put any real all-star level talent around him. They made bad decisions (Otis Smith was awful) and after getting to the finals have regressed tremendously. After getting bounced by the Hawks he lets it be known he wants out. Which makes perfect sense and is completely reasonable on his part. They were not getting better, only worse.

Move forward to the deadline, Howard opts-in to try and go for it that year, he was 'too loyal' to leave. He has always showed tremendous love to the city and the team. Now in the off-season after he got injured, and not having a chance to give it one more shot he wants out.

He does not want to go to free agency without being on a team he is okay with having his bird rights. If he stays in Orlando his FA options are what? Houston, Atlanta, Dallas? All unappealing options. If he is traded though to LA or Brooklyn he can re-up for 5 years in a place he actually wants to be and contend.

Bottom line is, the Magic embarrassed themselves. They failed to put a good team around Dwight, Dwight never failed them. So with all this, excuse me for finding it unlikely that Orlando will dump him in a city he doesn't want to play for. It very well could happen, but looking at the situation objectively and looking at what has happened in the past i find it very unlikely.

Mean to say still, could see them doing it even if there was LITTLE pain, hopefully to help for the future.

    He's not 100% consistent. But I don't think he's a Pro Lakers fanboy troll

He's been a member since 2006, and his first post was about the ASTROS.

Gotta just treat it like those Hollywood gossip "blind item" columns. Even if its all bs about the "inside", its entertainment.

We can argue over who's right and who's wrong, but it really doesn't matter. Truth is the Magic are not Dwight Howard fans. There is more enmity that exists between Orlando and Dwight than just about any superstar and team in recent history. I don't think you can use any sort of precedent for the way things have gone for the Magic.
