I just checked Rockets official site(http://www.nba.com/rockets/roster/2012). There are 24 players in our current roster. There are 13 Forwards and 8 Guards. I understand Earl Boykins and Jerome Jordan are not in our future plan. But it is still tooooo long for a NBA team. Can anyone update it? Earl Boykins is a FA .Jerome Jordan was released,he was playing with Knicks SL team(not eligible to sign with nicks but giving him a chance to land on another team)
I realize that roster might have some players that may amount to something in the future but that list overall looks horrendous. Yikes.
My guesses: Furkan Aldemir - Staying overseas. JaJuan Johnson - Unsure. Earl Boykins - Not in the plans. Jon Diebler - Not in the plans. Jerome Jordan - Not in the plans. E'Twaun Moore - Not in the plans. Sean Williams - Not in the plans. Omer Asik - Here to stay. Toney Douglas - Here to stay. Jeremy Lin - Here to stay. Shaun Livingston - Here to stay. Gary Forbes - Likely will take to TC or could be waived earlier. Chance to make the roster. Courtney Fortson - Likely will take to TC or could be waived earlier. Josh Harrellson - Likely will take to TC or could be waived earlier. Greg Smith - Likely will take to TC or could be waived earlier. Chance to make the roster. Jon Brockman - Will likely be waived at/during/before TC. Diamon Simpson - Will likely be waived at/during/before TC. Terrence Jones - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Jeremy Lamb - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Terrence Jones - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Kevin Martin - Here for the short term, trade candidate for Howard. Marcus Morris - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Donatas Motiejunas - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Chandler Parsons - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Patrick Patterson - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard. Royce White - Here to stay or possible trade candidate for Howard.
That's a lot of guessing......it's like playing the frickin lottery... and the sad thing is I dont think we are finished acquiring assets....
I'm confident in my guessing. I'm confident Douglas, Lin, and Asik are here to stay, for at least one year. Going off tweets from Feigen, I'm confident those guys who are 'not in the plans' are not in the plans, ha. I'm confident that Jones through White, those are your trade assets, either for Dwight or someone else, or those are guys who you rebuild with and are here to stay.(Except for Martin--he won't be back.) I'm Furkan confident that Aldemir won't be coming over soon and will be staying overseas. The rest of those guys, you're right, guessing on my part. I'm not sure of their status or the plans for those guys.
Stinks about Harrellson - he was worth a hard look as a 3rd center. Makes nothing, so I don't get dropping him.
The only ones that are guaranteed of staying are Asik and Lin IMO. The rest including the guy's on the non-guaranteed contracts are candidates for a Dwight Howard traded. The non-guaranteed's and expiring's could allow us to take on another contract, further helping us to retain more assets in a Howard trade.
Machado is awful, he forgot about him because he is forgettable. Why have Machado when we already have 3 guaranteed deal PGs on the roster? Lin, Douggie Fresh, and Livingston? Everyone needs to be done with the Machado love...its senseless.
