Iggy / Parsons / Howard would be a hell of a defensive trio.

Rather have Gay over Iguodala. Iguodala seems like a guy that will fall off a cliff at age 30.
He may be out of the league in three years.

Rudy Gay and Iggy wouldn't be too great next to Dwight, but Rudy is clutch though

And they would just foul them all game.

What an atrocity that core would be on the foul line. Iggy would be the best foul shooter at 60%. Yikes!

Iggy ain't that bad of a foul shooter. 74% on his career. He was bad last year but probably just a blip on the radar, I don't see any reason for foul shooting to drop that much permanently.

I also think Parsons is gonna be what he was in college, a 60% FT shooter.

That said, I don't think a Lin/Iggy/Parsons perimeter is a good idea. Not having any guys who can shoot three pointers to play with Dwight is bad...

Bill Ingram from Poopsworld mentioned that the Rockets will go after either of them. I don't think its true but just speculating how they would mesh with Dwight

    Don't shoot the messenger.

    @AlexKennedyNBA
If the Houston Rockets aren't able to acquire Dwight Howard, sources say they'll attempt to trade for Rudy Gay or Josh Smith.

from simmons, the never miss insider.

I will say though, at least they're putting the rockets in position to get Howard and are not just throwing out La and brooklyn.

    Bull.

Maybe they'll trade to trade for Gay or Smith IN ADDITION TO Howard, but not INSTEAD OF Howard. No way.

Why shoot for one lottery pick at a time when you can up your chances with multiple picks through trades. A team can also stink with high priced veterans. Trades don't always make you better or competitive, talent wise.

The management would be asking a lot from their fanbase to go the one pick per sucky year model.

With it looking more and more like we will sign Asik, then if we make the trade for Dwight and turn around and trade for Gay as the report indicated we would want a star wing player to add to the mix, how do we afford the combo of Lin, Gay, Howard and Asik?

Well I'm assuming that they would get picks from us, and still have their own picks. None of those "contending teams" will have high lottery picks to trade, so why do that to pick up high priced veterans who hurt your cap flexibility and take away playing time from the young kids you're trying to develop? Doesn't make sense.

Yes. You indeed have repeatedly said that Dwight would go to Houston. That much is crystal clear. I would never challange your record on that point. You own the Dwight to Houston prediction.

We're talking Dwight trade assets here and all you're focused on is picks?

How about players that other teams want? How about expiring contracts that other teams want?

Really, what benefit does cap space give to small/mid market teams when players don't want to sign there? The benefit is found with teams who need to make space or save money.

Doesn't make loads of sense to me - why trade for someone in an already crowded position?

We've got what, 12 forwards at this point? No less than 6-7 being rotation guys? Meanwhile, we've got one single SG.

Maybe it is true, but it's baffling. I know I'd rather roll with the youth movement and flip the excess for better reserves at the 1, 2, and 5.

But, let's just wait and see what happens comes Tuesday/Wed. Once Asik is official, Dwightmare should be cleared to wrap up.
