Nothing new, although I did find this interesting from a Bulls writer:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Plan is for Asik offer sheet to be delivered at Vegas Summer League today. Rockets will ask for Tuesday deadline since attempts made SAT.</p>&mdash; K.C Johnson (@KCJHoop) <a href="https://twitter.com/KCJHoop/status/227038288601554945" data-datetime="2012-07-22T13:52:00+00:00">July 22, 2012</a></blockquote>
    <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>All a moot point if Bulls use BAE on Belinelli and portion of MLE on Hinrich. Impossible to match on Asik with hard cap of $74.3M.</p>&mdash; K.C Johnson (@KCJHoop) <a href="https://twitter.com/KCJHoop/status/227038488929894401" data-datetime="2012-07-22T13:52:48+00:00">July 22, 2012</a></blockquote>

I guess if Hinrich and Beli get done before midnight Tuesday, Chicago automatically forfeits the rights to match.

Old info though. League granted Rockets Tuesday midnight deadline because attempts were made.

Yes, I know. I only included the first tweet in order for the second tweet to make sense. The Beli/Hinrich thing was what was new.

I remember reading that before somewhere, but it may not have been posted in this thread, so thanks

You probably did. I mentioned it when I read the tweets yesterday. I just felt more motivated to bring it to attention now for whatever reason.

What is up with teams playing cat and mouse on our RFA offer sheets? It's like Daryl Morey is the class nerd and everyone wants a chance to give him a wedgie.

If anything, Dork Elvis is the one giving the wedgies.

I really didn't think the Bulls would ape the Knicks' behavior, but they did. It all seems a little petty and unprofessional. I guess its their way of making a mild protest?

I suspect it is partly related to the decrease in the number of days you get to match your RFA's offer sheet from 7 days in the last CBA to three in this one. If cat and mouse gets you an extra day to (1) negotiate a replacement for your departing free agent, and simultaneously, (2) block the other team for an extra day from making follow on moves, then it is generally a good strategy.

They probably do not like that we are taking their players and using a loop hole to control the luxury tax hit.
