I like your line of thinking...but, that's a bad fit if we are landing Howard. conventional wisdow would suggest you want to surround a dominant Center with guys who can spread the floor...kinda like the 2 SGs we would (in all liklihood) be sending out

I agree that a secondary move has to be in Morey's periphery if we hit the home run, but looking at the landscape of the league I haven't quite put my finger on who would be a good and available fit. it's unfortunate that the two pieces Orlando likely covets would be so effective next to Howard...

on a somewhat related note, I think PPat would be a great fit next to Howard...the weaknesses in each of their game seem to balance well

Philly plays Thad Young mostly at PF; and he'll likely be the starter there this season. They also traded a lottery-protected future first rounder to get Arnett Moultrie in the late first round from Miami. That, combined with the fact that Hawes can play some PF, and I don't think the Sixers would be interested in a large, long-term contract for another PF.

I seriously doubt that the Rockets will be able to flip any of the "bad" contracts they take back from Orlando . . . this season. I could see them being able to dump Chris Duhon either at the trade deadline or (more likely) next summer, when his 2013-14 salary is only partially guaranteed. But immediately flipping a Big Baby or a Jason Richardson? Not very likely.

But, then again, no one's been able to keep up with all the moves that Morey and the front office have been making this summer; so I guess anything's possible.

I don't know if Iggy is the best fit by Howard. Elite defender yeah but he can't shoot for sh**.

I agree with that too. But I think Iggy can spread the floor. He is a top tier SG just as Martin is. With Dwight, Lin, White, and company, we are going to be running off our defense. And that is where Iggy would s-h-i-n-e.

Another guy I really like is Brandon Rush. Great 3-point shooter, great handle, etc. But he's restricted. We may be able to entice GS into a S&T if we offered them some cap relief. They have no need of RJeff or Biedrins. Possibly send out some sort of combination of PPat, Duhon, Davis, JRich for one or both of those guys (expirings next season), and a re-signed Rush.

Spot on, I would love to still have Martin with Howard here because a real big men can erase a lot of mistakes. That's why I think Morey should insist on keeping Lamb, it's not like the other players and our picks are not enough for an ego-maniac rental with back problems..

I'm not saying i don't trust Adrian, just that in that particular case, he was running with false info too.

    Point taken.

Where do you see Patterson fitting on this team after Dwight arrives??

Personally, I think we'd be wasting him. He is a good, young power forward with 2 full seasons left on his rookie deal. I'm not trying to get rid of him but I don't think it makes sense for him to stay here. We're gonna be playing Motie and White. And we are going to need a perimeter scorer/shooter.

My thought on Philly was they may want to get something for Iggy while they still can. Also, while Young plays PF, he's a small lineup fast power forward. And I flat disagree on Hawes being able to play PF. That dude is slower than a slug. He's a slow center. How could he possibly man the 4? Just because he shoots the long-range bomb. In my humble, Hawes is one of the slowest players in the entire league. Trading Iggy now and getting a good young power 4, plus saving some salary for free agency next summer for them was the thought I had in mind there.

The other thing I don't really know about is Big Baby's trade value. He certainly was valued by Boston, but not enough to give him that big of a contract. He is Dwight's buddy.

If Morey could peddle off one of JRich/Davis when the Dwight trade goes down, it may be best to do that. Because they are unlikely to get major minutes on this team going forward.

I might be towing the line of random trade thread speculation here...

but if there was any substance to Houston looking at J-Smoove...Anthony Morrow is now part of the Hawks as a result of the Joe Johnson deal.

the Hawks seem to be heading towards a full rebuild (from the looks of it around Horford)...hat would be a trade parter to keep an eye on as the trade deadline approaches

Two teams yes, but they couldn't make the trade just between two teams. They needed three, which is why it never had much substance to it.

The last tweet says they wouldn't need a third team, which they would have needed.

I agree we can easily flip Parsons/Patterson for Iggy or Gay.That way Dwight gets a 2nd star to play with and Lin would flourish as the 3rd option.Guys be patient Morey has a plan if we get Dwight you better believe he has a plan to pair Dwight with a 2nd star. His job is on the line lets trust his plan.

I personally hope we get Rudy Gay.

    Lin
    Jrich
    Gay
    Davis
    Dwight

That's a top 5 team in the West.

Tony Mejia: "@vinhpham: Think Rockets will be willing to give up Lamb?" I wouldn't think they want to. Looked more engaged than at UConn. Magic noticed. about 9 hours ago

Tony Mejia: "@NOTOR1OUS_G:How many rookies will Rockets give up?" Depends on what can be taken back contracts-wise, how badly they want to keep Parsons. yesterday

Mejia's about the only indisder other than Wojo I trust on the Houston-Orlando talks, and even Wojo looks like he got played on the Nets-Magic rumors. Although i'd rather have Bynum than Dwight, I think it's clear that unless we are willing to give up D-Mo (probably untouchable), Lamb (probably untouchable) or Parsons, everyone else (except Lin and Asik) may have to be included: White, Jones, Morris, and Pat.

Would you rather have Parsons or White & Jones?

If we get to keep Lamb besides White, I can get over losing Parsons.

trade Denied. Any trade which involves Lamb in it should be denied. this is the most i would give up for Howard. : MARTIN, 2PAT, MORRIS, PARSON, RAPTORS 1ST ROUNDER, DAL 1ST ROUNDER, and maybe Ours first rounder.

thats plenty of assets and picks for them to rebuild.
