Dwight had Dallas on his list early last year, presumably because they were in a position to land Deron as well. That talk died down, Deron stayed with Brooklyn, and as soon as Lopez signed Stephen A Smith said 'THIS NOW MEANS DALLAS IS AT THE TOP OF HIS LIST BECAUSE HE MAYBE WANTED TO GO THERE A YEAR AGO'. At that point, the Alex Kennedys and Chris Broussards of the world used him as the proverbial 'source' and it is now almost universally accepted that Dwight will walk to Dallas if he gets traded to Houston.

That's all they keep saying on ESPN Dallas. "Mavfans better hope Dwight ends up in Houston because the Lakers won't sign him and he will end up a Mav. Only threat is Atlanta...". So dumb. Dwight only wanted to go there because of Deron. These Mavs fans are silly.

I'd take Katie Holmes in her prime over Kate Upton.

With all due respect, that is one of the more bizarre statements I have ever read on this BBS. Dallas "sexy?" Dallas put on the same level as New York and Los Angeles? Dallas with more "sexiness" than Houston? Are you trippin', dude? Do you need directions to the Hog Farm's trip tent? Get a hold of some of that brown acid?

Just when I think I've read everything here...

If Dallas was so sexy, Dallas would have Derom Williams now.

    Funny thing to note-

Listening the other day to ESPN Dallas, and the hosts were talking about how upset they are with Cuban's financial flexibility decisions in the past 2 years, and then went on to later to talk about Dwight Howard and praised the Rockets ownership for having the guts to totally dismantle the roster to put themselves to either bottom out or have enough pieces to actually aquire Dwight Howard in trade instead of hoping that he comes next year in free agency....

Just sayin..... Grass is always greener folks.

The only thing Dallas has going for it, is an aging superstar in Dirk, and capspace next season to offer a max contract. That sounds great and all but what they do not have is assets to offer in a trade to get a player like Dwight to Dallas and retain his bird rights to offer him more $. I know there is a "possiblity" that Dwight would think that much highly of Dallas to lose out on some change, but in the end I still put the Rockets in a better situation to land Dwight long term. Given they make smart decisions AFTER they aquire Dwight to show him they mean business.

Regardless, other than Dallas' situation coming up next Summer, there is really nowhere for Howard to go. If I was Howard I would just stay in Orlando, but hey if really needs a change of scenery that bad, its either Houston or a team like Sacramento... thats pretty easy choice if you ask me. He's not going to take the lower mid level acception just to go to a team of his choice like Brooklyn or the Lakers and everyone knows that... or should know that.

I'm sorry did you just compare Dallas to LA and NY? I live in Dallas and its a great city (still love Houston more though), but man Dallas just isnt in the same arena as those markets.

And to the other post regarding Dallas espn radio, yeah I hear it too. Mavs sports radio personalities are delusional as are most local media outlets. But they admit themselves they don't know squat about the new CBA and cap implications. Mavs are stuck on the mediocrity treadmill now with an aging Dirk who has a no trade clause.

I don't think Howard's problem so much is Orlando or the team around him, but management that put them in that position. He has lost faith in the FO and their 8 years of promising that they will make the right moves to get him a ring. He has expressed his displeasure with the fact that he doesn't have enough say in personell moves, so you just knew that once his team turned out bad he would throw an "I told you so" in their face. He finally just got fed up with it and threw his super tantrum that we are all basking in.

Why on earth would any other team trade a superstar who's currently under their control for a potential rental in DH?

And if that other superstar happens to have an expiring contract (say, Chris Paul), why on earth would Orlando trade DH for a player that puts them right back in the same situation?
