Since this is filming, I figured it was time for a dedicated thread. THOR 2 will be directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, The Sopranos) and will be released November 8, 2013. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, and Idris Elba are all expected to return. Looks like the villain may have been spoiled (or at least one of them): Spoiler Link Have The Villains For THOR: THE DARK WORLD Been Revealed? A brief chat with Hollywood stuntman James Grogan (Snow White and the Huntsman) has possibly revealed the villains for Marvel's Thor: The Dark World. Click the jump to find out which baddies Chris Hemsworth is up against in the sequel. Looks like Simon Bland of the website "I Review Too..." has grabbed the first big scoop for the Thor sequel. Oddly enough this scoop is just slightly over a month old but hasn't been unearthed by any major site, til now. Simon had a chat with British stuntman James Grogan, who has performed stunts on over seventy films. Most recently Tim Burton's Dark Shadows and Chris Hemsworth's Snow White and the Huntsman. During the brief chat Grogan reveals that stuntmen working on the next Thor film are training to be elves. However what we don’t know is which intergalactic foe or group of foes The Mighty Thor will be aiming his hammer at. Thanks to a brief chat with Hollywood stuntman James Grogan, we may have our answer. Whilst discussing the importance of acting chops in stunt work, Grogan related the experience to a certain Marvel film that he’s currently training for. “The other day for example, this is quite random but I was working on Thor 2,” he explains, “I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’ and he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,’ honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it.” Since the title is Thor: The Dark World it's pretty safe to assume that he is referring to the dark elves. Which would then lead us to believe that their leader, Malekith the Accursed, is one of the main villains. Now we already know that Tom Hiddleston is returning as Loki, and there is a popular story that links him with Malekith. In the comic book Thor #344 Loki and Malekith formed an alliance in order to secure the Casket of Ancient Winters. Perhaps they will use this story arc for the sequel, or perhaps not. Dark Elves - The Dark Elves are ruled over by Malekith the Accursed, and the most powerful amongst their ranks was Algrim the Strong. However, Algrim was betrayed by Malekith in a bid to kill Thor. Algrim was dropped into lava and though he survived, he was critically wounded. The Beyonder transformed Algrim into the monstrous Kurse, who seemingly kills Malekith for the betrayal. Years later, Malekith reveals that he survived, and he sets forth an ultimately unsuccessful plot for Hercules to kill Alflyse, the Dark Elf Queen of the Eastern Spires. The trio of Bitterhand, Wormwood, and Grendell serve Malekith loyally and have attempted to destroy Thor on several occasions, including once while Mjolnir was being reforged Malekith the Accursed is a supervillain in the Marvel Universe. He is ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, and has come into conflict with Thor. He once wielded the Casket of Ancient Winters. The Casket of Ancient Winters - An Asgardian relic and the greatest weapon of Malekith the Accursed. When opened, it can reproduce the infinite icy cold of Niflheim. Spoiler Seems like alot of back story they need to get through on the Dark Elves. Hopefully they can trim that down a bit.
Ideally that's her reaction when I get to put my peepee in her poop hole. Also I hear there will be a hot lesbian scene between Ms.Portman and Spoiler
It means you are too young. It should conjure images of Vincent D'Onofrio from Adventures in Babysitting. Spoiler Which should then conjure images of Elizabeth Shue.
To be fair I've seen that movie, though it did come out before I was born. Curb is way funnier though....
I'll definitely go see it, but the first one was very mediocre. Probably the worst of the set-up movies for the Avengers in my opinion. Hopefully they can improve on this one.
