I don't want to give up Lamb, but Martin's expiring contract is definitely gone. I don't want to give up Parsons, but if so, we must keep Jones. Patterson and Morris, bye, bye. Donuts, no way, White, reluctant, but O.K. We have to keep a core of good players if with get Howard. Like I said in another thread this is a formidable team: Linn Lamb Jones Howard Donuts Likely a playoffs team.
I looked for the option of no Dwight and did not see it so I did not vote. I do not want him without knowing his back is okay. Right now the most I would give up would be Martin ,Morris, & Toronto pick with no bad salaries coming back (which I know Orlando will not do). Without seeing him play and knowing his back is okay I would not give up any of the rookies or take on bad contracts. Now at the trade deadline, after seeing he is the same player (which I currently have my doubts), I would give up more and take back some bad contracts. His back is way too big of a risk to make a stupid move right now.
Bet you knew better. I was listing players as I was thinking of them, not necessarily in "proper" order. Pretty good starting line up, wouldn't you say? Size, speed, shooting, defense, got it all.
Nothing. Assuming we get Asik, I like what we got: Lin, Livingston, Douglas, Machado Martin, Lamb, Parsons, White, Forbes, Morris Motijunas, Jones, Patterson Asik, Johnson, Harrelson, Williams, Jordan, Brockman, Smith I've bolded the guys I'd rotate if the season were starting now, based on what I've seen so far. Who am I forgetting? Seems like we've got some other assets on the roster right now... Rockets.com roster lists 23 guys. To my surprise, it looks like we've got more Cs than PFs. It's Martin's contract year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him putting up some numbers; if he's not fast out of the gate, he'd be my #1 trade candidate; if he's scorching hot, Morris would be my #1 trade candidate. I bet they're both gone by the trade deadline-- though I'd love to see them play great and stick. Machado will probably supplant Fortson with RGV, is my hunch-- still, I wish for Ish the Dish. Right now the roster is over-stuffed. It's ten pounds of assets in a five-pound sack. Who do we need to outright release-- or can we do anything else (RGV, trade) with them? Have we cut E'twaun Moore yet? What's Sean Williams's status? Jerome Jordan's? And what the heck is a Furkan Aldemir?
I know Jerome Jordan has already been waived. Also Josh (Jorts) Harrellson played a total of 23 minutes in SL. Not likely to make it into the rotation.
Wish there was a "Don't trade for Dwight" option, but of them all 1 would probably be best. Definitely don't want to lose Lamb, D-Mo, or Parsons
It isn't what you think will happen or should happen, just what you would be willing to give from DM's point of view.
For D12 or Bynum... I'd take JRich n Big baby contracts... Give Kmart, PPat, Jones OR Royce, MMo if needbe, and any of the flotsam n jetsom (Forbes, Smith, Harrelson, etc....) I'd be happy starting the season with.. Lin/Douglas/Machado JRich/Lamb Parsons/MMo/Royce Big baby/DMo/Asik/Royce D12 or Bynum/Asik/DMo
OP I know your an Orlando fan, but come on! All of those offer's are overpaying. Here's what I'd offer your precious Orlando as the situation currently stands.... [rquoter]Kevin Martin + other expiring's and non-guaranteed contracts + Toronto's guaranteed Lottery Pick + Marcus Morris and Patrick Patterson in return along with Howard I'd take on the contract of either Jason Richardson or Glen Davis. [/rquoter] This offer is more then fair for a rental. Hell some would consider it overpaying, given Orlando has no leverage and are dealing with a depreciating asset in Dwight Howard (given that his contract diminishing).
This isn't what you think will happen like I said before but I think Hennigan would accept any of these offers in a heartbeat. Would I love to get your trade? Of course; its better for us. But the point of the thread is asking for the very most you would give up, not the best possible offer.
I think every prefers option 1. I'm fine with any of them. I think Dontas, Lamb, or Parsons is gone + Martin, Morris, Pat (maybe), picks/fillers. I'd prefer to keep Dontas over anyone else, though I think Lamb might end up the best player because 2 - 7 footers would be dominant. Obviously from this also if I had to give up 1 of the 3, I'd be fine with Parsons being gone. I think he will be a solid role player, but those Morey seems to be able to get those types of players in every draft.
