Because he wasn't shape shifting throughout the entire movie?

you're overthinking it. Blake was basically Robin thoughout the movie without the ridiculous costume. like mrm32 said, the name is just a nod to the comics. if he were to be Robin then why didn't Nolan just use an actual robin alias such as dick grayson, jason todd, or tim drake?

they did. if somebody could provide a screen shot, you can see on the document that his full name is actually "John Clayface Riddler Penguin Robin Blake".

Exactly. And what happens after Bruce stops being Batman? "Robin" takes over the mantle. I would love to see a possible Nightwing spin off instead of him becoming Batman though.

He was Robin dude. Everything was close to source-material with this movie. Batman grooming another Batman (who was never a Robin) never happened in the comics.

That was 1 out of 4 moments I came in my pants during the duration of TDKR.

I'm so sure the Joker would have made an appearance in TDKR if Ledger had not died. :(

I agree across the board. I liked the movie, but TDK blew it away. My fiancee and I were discussing it after the movie, and it really took 3 "villains" to compare to 1 Joker, and it still wasn't as good. With that said Anne Hatheway does a great job as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and Tom Hardy's eyes were just as expressive as advertised -- he completely makes up for Batman and Robin's Bane.

Unfortunately due to the ditzy little girl that played "young Talia" stating that in her interview 6 months ago (or so), I already knew the plot twist at the end. I was just sitting there waiting for it to happen.

Everything else I had guessed as well. I figured JGL's character would end up becoming the new Batman/Robin or whatever (he's the new Batman, notice he stood up in the cave with the Bats and wasn't scared. Batman is the legend). I also knew they weren't going to kill off Batman. My best guess is Nolan wanted to kill him off and DC/WB wouldn't allow it. Thus the cutesy little ending. I had hoped once the person walked past Bruce he would have changed to be someone else, but again I don't think DC/WB would allow that one.

I don't want to seem like I disliked the movie, it was very good. It was one of the best superhero movies ever, and it's certainly apart of the best superhero trilogy ever.

With that said this plot is essentially the exact same aggressor / same plot
    (League of Shadows/X_Al_Ghul vs Gotham/Batman)
as Batman Begins. I'm sure when I see it again (I was very tired/fell asleep for a second or two by the time I saw it) I'll like it better. Emotionally it was easily the best movie in the series (fiancee cried a little bit due to Alfred at the end), so by that token I'd say it has to be at least the second best movie.

    TDK > TDKR > BB

Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever (imo), TDKR/BB are some of the best superhero movies ever. I'd say that sums up the difference.

Man, I wonder what the story would have been if Heath Ledger never died. I bet it would be totally different and would still feature Joker as a main villain.

It would have. It would have been Bane/
    the league of Shadows
busting him out of Arkham, then them quickly realizing he can't be controlled. Can you imagine both of them wreaking havoc on Gotham?
You saw the Scarecrow cameo. You think Joker's role wouldn't be the entire movie?

Definitely agree if Ledger was still alive The Dark Knight Rises would have probably been different and much much more epic. Oh what have been.:(

I wish they would have made this movie longer and split it up into two parts. It felt rushed at time but I'm guessing that was due to scenes they had to edit out. Still my favorite of the series.

You should see the faces of folks showing up 20 mins before this IMAX starts. Can't wait to see the folks that show up during the previews and get indignant about the place being packed.

I saw it in IMAX twice. The first time I got there about 5 hours early and had to sit in the second row. It wasn't bad at all but if I had a choice I'd sit higher. The second time I got there 2 and a half hours early and I sat in the same seats. I'd at least like to watch it once with good seats. Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll head down to watch it at Moody Gardens.

I'm pretty sure the Joker's role would have been minor. I could very easily see him subbed with one of the existing parts in the movie.
