Saw a 4 am showing at an imax on early Friday morning. Might've been my favorite of all 3. I thought I was going to hate Hathaway as Catwoman but I loved every scene she was in (besides the obvious reasons) Spoiler The scene where her and Batman are going through the sewers on the way to Bane kicking ass in unison was freaking awesome. I could've watched 3 hours of that kinda stuff It was weird coming out of the theater in the early morning and getting in the car on a Batman high only to immediately hear about the shootings on the way home.
not a fan of what they did with the SF soldiers. no need to inject stark reality in there. pulled me out of the movie. beyond that is was awesome. A little long but it didn't drag.
Here's the Man of Steel trailer for people who didn't get to see it at the theater. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6jKWJZsjm5U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Pretty lulzy and I know why someone said it reminds them of Deadliest Catch. The trailer made no sense.
and this is why i didn't bother visiting this thread as soon as the movie was released. THAT'S A HUGE ASS SPOILER. as for the actual movie, the action was intense, unfettered, and unforgettable. i was on the edge of my seat a lot. probably came 2 twice in the last 30 minutes. bane's voice was distracting though. apart from being difficult to understand, the accent didn't help. i thought anne hathaway's catwoman was awesome. she played catwoman to a "t". i'll rank them TDKR > BB > TDK. oh yea, someone brought there toddler to the movie. and of course the kid never shut up. we had to "shhh" it a couple times before the moronic parents finally got the hint.
Overall good movie, but I thought TDK was the best of the series. Spoiler * Bane is badass. * The romance between Bruce and Selina in the end seemed forced. * Bane's downfall was anti-climactic. * There wasn't enough Batman-being-Batman (hanging in the shadows, forensics, using cool gadgets in hand-to-hand combat) scenes * It doesn't seem possible that Batman could escape an atomic bomb with a 6-mile blast radius * I liked that Batman is ultimately redeemed and he has a successor to take his place
Spoiler i agree with most of those things. too much bruce wayne limping around/being sad (and gordon in the hospital) and i thought it took away from the energy of the movie. about escaping the atomic bomb, i assume he just ejected somewhere in gotham (maybe when he blew the buildings up to make room for the "the bat" since that seemed to be the last thing he did that the autopilot couldn't take care of and it was off camera enough that we couldn't see him)/right after gotham so he was going to escape as much as gotham was. i'm not quite sure "the bat" flew fast enough to make it 6+ miles in less than 2 minutes but apparently it did.
Spoiler to address number 5, wasn't there a scene where Fox was informed the auto-pilot on the bat was fixed six months prior? i think it's plausible batman ejected way before the bomb went off.
Spoiler 6 miles and 2 megatons is a plot hole. 2 megatons might not have conflagration in 6 mile radius but it will easily burn you to the point of blisters. And of course fallout would have wiped them all out in a matter of hours. This only has a 1.4 and a 9mt but you can see what I'm saying. http://www.carloslabs.com/node/20
Spoiler Batman is still in the Bat when its over the water. They show his face with like a second left. The Bat that is seen at the end with Fox is a prototype that he showed Bruce earlier in the film. You can distinguish because it isn't painted black. I'm thinking Batman ejected before the bomb blew up but it doesn't really explain how he was able to escape 6 miles so fast.
Spoiler ok, i know he's freaking Batman but how did Bruce get into Gotham so easily. no bridge and he certainly wasn't flying the bat wing. swam? i think this is a bigger plot hole than surviving the nuke.
Spoiler I think it was easier to get into Gotham than it was to get out. Again, its his city he probably knows it like the back of his hand. I'm really hoping for an extended cut blu ray that can help answer all this.
