Parsons would give you the same thing Iggy does, except in a rookie scale contract.

Have you ever watched Iggy played? Parsons is nowhere near Iggy.

He is a lot closer than you think. Great passing, defense and suspect shooting. Igg is more athletic and a better slasher but parsons has a definite height advantage. Of course you would pick Iggy every day of the week but Parsons was a very, very good rookie.

    What's Livingston's physical condition? 100% or 50%

Parsons would be more than adequate at that spot. I think we will see him there a good bit this year. Fortson isn't an NBA quality PG and shouldn't be on the final roster.

I would love to see Livingston play some back up shooting guard. not second string though. let him be a reserve for both guard slots. Machado as backup point over douglas. I think Forbes might be able to play some backup shooting guard.

I believe McHale is planning on playing Parsons spot minutes at SG. If you watched the first summer league game Parsons made several references at trying to hone his skills to play the two guard spot. I thought it interesting at the time but just never brought it up due to the fact that Lamb emerged as a possible starter and we could easily find a serviceable back up from the scrap heap.

Agreed. Everyone's just going different directions at the same time on this.

    Parsons
    Jones
    White (point fwd)
    Motiejunas

Think we will see this line-up at any point this season if we go young?

    Giant line-up.

Toney Douglas was quite a decent role-player in his rookie and sophomore seasons for NY when he was playing SG. He sucked when he was expected to play PG in D'Antoni's offense and then he had his shoulder injury. If he were to return to playing a reduced role as a back-up SG there's no reason to think he wouldn't return to being a fantastic contributor and giving valuable spot minutes.

If Kevin Martin doesn't return I'd be happy to see Douglas play ~15 minutes a game at SG backing up Lamb.

Hope you guys realize that if the Howard trade goes down, Livingston will 100% be included.

He can't be traded until Aug 27th (2 months after being traded here), unless its a 1 for 1 deal. Only Duhon's salary matches up...so we shall see

Livingston is a pure pg. Now, if martin is moved, lamb can start and livingston can be in the 3 guard rotation since lin is comfortable as a scorer.
