The fact that people even make this comparison shows how much hate there is for Lebron. Lebron left a team he gave 7 years to that had no cap room and the best players they put around him were antawn jamison and mo williams. Although I do think the media has something to do with the bs going on with dwight it's not even close...
It was all about the media ..... If you recall , Lebron wouldnt even discuss his pending FA during the season , it wasnt until "The Decision" - an ESPN production that anyone was mad at the guy. Dwight .... has been crying for a trade to anyone who will listen and with every outlet available for the past 18 months.
Of course Dwight... Lebron didn't discuss anything until the Decision but Dwight has been crying, pouting, and creating all this mess for 2 years.... The Magic should have traded him anyway even if he opted in for another year. When he opted in with 1 more year with the Magic, everyone at that time was relieve but they never knew it would get this bad... I hate the fact that Dwight opted in and then started crying to be traded but he doesn't want to be traded anywhere. Dwight Howard is a selfish diva. First he got his coach fired because he didn't feel like playing for him. Whatever he wants the Magic to do, they would try their best for him. The Magic fans have been supporting him since he came into the league and this is how he repays them? This is why I don't want Dwight Howard on the Rockets. He will ruin this team just like how he ruining the Magic. He will get McHale fired, Morey fired, every young prospect on our team traded away for his liking and then after all that, he's going to demand a trade...
Lebron did more damage in a couple weeks to his image than Dwight had in 2 months. However, this is been going on for nearly a year and the sheer amount of coverage due to longevity has surpassed Lebron's for vitriol. From the stab in the back to his coach and then smiling to the media while putting his arm around him to everything before, between and after... clearly, Dwight is putting himself ahead of Lebron. And I thought that was unthinkable at one point in his career.
Lebron never asked to be traded. He played out his contract and went to a situation that was best for him. The only thing Lebron thing that was "wrong" was the TV special but even that was for charity so I don't blame him. It benefited somebody.
Think about it like this: there was never any such thing as the 'Lebron-mare' .... No question IMO ... Dwight has more llama drama than Lebron.
Voted Lebron. Lebron ripped the heart out of Cavs fans. The Dwight Saga has been anticlimatic. There are some of us who would rather roll with our rookies or Bynum at this point.
This, I hated the crap out of Lebron for The Decision, but I never doubted that he would be a great player. In fact I gained A LOT of respect for him this season, he put his head down and played from start to finish without saying anything stupid. Dwight on the other hand...? Crys and throws a tantrum till the GM/Coach is fired and then asks for an unrealistic trade. Oh and he does this for 2 years.
Dwight... LeBron, despite the train-wreck decision, got to to exactly where he wanted to go. Dwight OTOH, is going to go somewhere, just not to the place where he truly wants to go(Brooklyn). Whoever told him to stay with Orlando 1 extra year, has done him much worse than LeBron's handlers did "The Decision."
Dwight. I had no issue with Lebron's t.v. special, nor his celebration and saying he'd win multiple titles. I felt that he should have been straight with Dan Gilbert after how much they catered to him and so the organization could move on. I was upset when he waived his clause because I wanted him in Dallas. That's OK, I held nothing against him. I knew it was Dwight's call and Cuban took a gamble. That aside, Dwight is too indecisive and wants too much. He kept making demands after waiving his right to be a free agent. Orlando catered to him despite him wanting out. If he wanted out he shouldn't have waived his right. If he felt Orlando would trade him against his wishes, then he could have played out the season or sat out due to injury and still became a free agent. Even if he stayed for more money, he'd likely take less money anyway to join with other stars.
