Isn't it always gonna be lottery protected until like 2016?

With our luck, we will trade all of our good players/picks for Howard, get swept in the first round, Lamb wins ROY in Orlando, Dwight leaves to sign with Dallas, and the team that would have 14th pick wins the lottery.

lol...Given this is Houston we are talking about, there is about a 20% chance of this happening.

Um...I dont want to give up either of the two; and frankly, we shouldnt have to. Martin, Jones, Morris, bad contracts, Toronto pick, Dallas pick, and Bobcats' 2nd rounder should be enough to get it done.

That's the deal I'd like to make, so that means it probably isn't enough.

(And Richardson and Duhon are the contracts, not Turk)

I'd be surprised if we don't give up Lamb. I'm kind of thinking it's almost a given at this point. I suppose we could wind up giving some combination of Parsons, White, and Jones.

I think, the Rox will not make Lamb available. Martin will be in the deal, you have to replace him, the Magic get a top SG and Lamb is probably the best draft pick the Morey trust has made. I think they want him to play here for a decade.

Dmo/Jones may be the negotiation, they want Dmo/we want to include Jones.

Yeah thats what im thinking..Rockets have a plethora of PFs we only have 2 SGs and one is on the trade block..So if we get richardson hopefully Lamb is safe if a trade happens at all

Lamb isn't even the best draft pick we had in SL, man, Motiejunas is. As evidenced by Clutch telling people they were saying Motiejunas won't be traded. Also, Morey actually seemed more excited about White than Lamb in post draft interviews... got the impression White was only picked after, because they knew he would still be there and Lamb wouldn't. Could be wrong though.

I actually really suspect that Lamb was picked because other GMs like him, and CF has bought into the same stuff Morey is using to sell Lamb in trade talks.

When did Clutch say this? Are you just assuming he said this?

I don't think Houston has to include Lamb or Dmo if they are taking back a bunch of bloated contracts, giving up all their picks, and including one of the draftees, and perhaps another "asset" in the deal. we still have all the leverage in the negotiation. We are still the only team by far that can take back bad contracts while offering quality picks and prospects. I don't see how Orlando is in position to demand Lamb.

Hopefully we can use Dragic's bird rights to get an extra pick from the suns to include in a deal. AT this point I'm hoping Bynum rather than Howrd.

I believe something along those lines was mentioned in Clutch's post summer league analysis just not quite verbatim.

If i remember correctly around the draft they said they picked Lamb because he was a tier 1 Sg that slipped far and they were able to grab i think Rockets feel he's a steal with Lee gone and Martin partially out the door we need our dynamic scorer

I wonder where people got the idea that Bynum want to come here. His agent says nobody talk to them about any deal. Now we learned both of them want to explore free agency to maximize their contracts. But who care, we still have the most to offer when they become free agents.

However, if we can get Bynum to agree verbally that he want to stay in Houston long term, then we should pursue him rather than Howard non-comm ital. That is IF we can't get Howard. I think we have the assets to get him....

I'm growing more worried by the day that LA is just trying to dump Bynum for max value because they know his knees are just about shot.

I think Morey is thinking all in on Howard. Seems the media created the Bynum to Houston 3 way. I can't imagine Morey putting all this time into Howard and in the end not getting him, but giving up all the assets to get him to LA. In the end if its Howard or Bynum we would own their Bird Rights. There is no way Bynum or Howard pass up a extra yearat 25mil. Im sure if Howard comes here and is just a terrible teammate and is nonstop in his wanting out, Morey would attempt to flip him then for Bynum. If Howard is a professional and plays hard and we are good, Morey will wait and pray Howard won't leave all that money on the table.
