I think the final deal will be

Martin, Lamb, Toronto pick, Dallas pick, Morris for Howard, J-Rich, Q-RIch

I'm really starting to question some of yall. 2 unproven rookies that looked good in the SUMMER League for a top 5 player and defensive anchor? In a heartbeat. Some serious homerism here.

Would you rather have Howard's bird rights going into next offseason? Or not?

Is the price fair? Probably. But the fact remains that Houston has the leverage here. Dwight cant go to LA without another team's help and CLE isnt willing enough to part with theirs. (I tihnk) So they only real choice of ORL now is to either deal him to us or wait for January for the Brooklyn deal. Its the perfect chance to lowball ORL, imo.

DD wouldn't pull any crap like that. Contrary to popular opinion, DD doesn't troll. Everything he says is his legitimate thoughts. It just so happens that half the time it's so outrageous that it appears to be trolling

Im sure anybody would do the trade if Dwight would stay here long term thats no question...Posters here are iffy because they aren't sure if Dwight is a 1 year rental or if he will become our franchise player for many years

I''m all for it. You gotta gamble to win, and in our situation I'm ready to gamble.

Im gonna leave yall with one last note.

according to popeye's account, he hasnt logged in since 2004

If he was still around, then doncha think he would have at least logged in while checking to see what was going on at the board he spent so much time giving tips to?

and in that same vein, I wasnt very active and I certainly wasnt known on this board back then, so unless he had been here sometime in the last year(the amount of time since Ive been on the Crew) dont yall think he would ask who the hell is that when confronted with my words here?

I just dont believe it at all. It is someone who has been here a long time and knows the history of this board....trolling Magic fans and making us look bad.

If yall can avoid discussing it any further, then at least you dont give him the satisfaction of seeing yall go nuts over his posts.

Ill gladly eat crow if Im wrong, but I feel VERY confident I wont have to.

If DW plays here for a year, we make the playoffs, no top 3 pick(plus we give up the pick by making the playoffs). If he leaves after the year, then we would suck ,so the top pick possibility wont be for 2 more drafts.

Disagree. Hate to see those guys leave, but thats what it takes to keep us financially flexible. You can either lose your assets or you take on bad contracts, which ultimately cripple the franchise. Why do you think Orlando can't get any better? If we took on Hedo and Duhon, we would have no immediate chance at improving and would be in a very similar situation to Orlando.

If we land Dwight, the city of Houston changes for good. Everyone will want to play here. You need the cap flexibility to field the best team possible around Dwight. Possibly make a run at Paul or another star. Likewise, do you really think Dwight wants to come here and play with developing rookies? Is that who we want to surround a prime Dwight with? Hate to say it, but Motiejunas won't be any better than Ryan Andersen was last year, and that's a stretch. If we get Dwight, we are in win now mode. Period.

Not sure if this is even accurate, but you guys need to chill. Getting Dwight would put is in another league completely. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't be happy.

I'm pretty sure most people are scared of Dwight leaving and us being in a terrible position. Most people also want to see the rooks grow together and finally get some stability on the roster.

Who's going to play with him? Dwight by himself is not gonna win us a championship this upcoming year if traded..He will revitalize the team but that will only be for a year, there's no guarantees he will stay. I dont know if everyone would want to play here if Dwight pulls that drama stuff towards the end of the season if hes here

Like i have mentioned a lot ...the Rockets are going to give the Magic worthy picks...or cap space...and not both...If all you are giving up is Dmo and Lamb and only have to take back one "bad ": contract...

And you have tremendous financial flexibility next year??? The Rockets are going to be in good shape...next offseason...

RECALL: Miami already had Wade, before Lebron and Bosh joined...All it takes is one...and Howard is in his prime...GO ROCKETS..

I don't really believe that trade, looks like a troll.

That said, if absolutely necessary, I would pull the trigger on the same scenario. Martin + Motiejunas + Lamb + only two picks in exchange for Howard and no truly bad contracts (Jason Richardson is still a solid SG, and Quentin, while terrible, is being paid peanuts through only next season).

We keep our flexibility, hell we could maybe even add CP3 or Josh Smith in the offseason. Keep Parsons, Jones, White. It's not that bad. It does suck to lose the only two prospects with all star upside though. I hope we keep at least 1 of those guys in the end.
