Former YOF and back. Wasted decades following the NJ Nets and decided to just watch the players I like instead. I did always like the Rockets though cuz I hated the Lakers and the Rockets were pretty much the only team in the West back then that could beat them (the Moses year and Sampson's buzzer beater). First NBA game I went to was Twin Towers at the Forum (old Lakers arena). Rockets lost that night though. Beat the next year in the playoffs.
Welcome newbies!! My advice to you for surviving clutchfans: Take in the good, leave out the bad, just laugh at the rest.
Doesn't matter if you are a LOF, you will come to love the Rockets. Just know that you need to hate the Mavericks and Jazz with passion!!!
haha. well i live in laker town, so i guess you could consider me a laker fan who is waiting for the kobe bryant era to come to an end. and yes i am a lin fan. watched him a little bit at harvard and thought he could make it in the nba. linsanity in new york was an amazing thing to see and i am pulling for him in houston. i think its great how jeremey lin brings out all of the stereotypes that people have out in the open for all to see. and then proceeds to break them. more power to him.
However,(wish there was an edit). I will be disapointed if Royce gets traded, I haven't followed an NBA team closely like this in a long time(if ever), and the rockets look young and fun to watch, with a potentialy very high ceiling.
I was a Rockets fan when Hakeem and Drexler started rolling and it was a pleasure to see them win some championships. Also remember watching Robert Horry burying shots like no ones business. I'm also a Lin fan. Yao.. I never really got into. But I am new to these forums.
Been a fan since the early days of the franchise move to Houston .... I remember games being played in the Astrodome , AstroHall , Sam Houston Coliseum and Hofheinz Pavilion.
I'm new here. I was a diehard Suns fan and then we signed Goran Dragic and some guy named DaDakota joined and ruined our message board... So here I am:grin:
