Lol, at first I was real mad, but then I realized Courtney Lee was a free agent, so we were lucky to get anything at all.
Rockets get the Bobcats 2nd rounder and the Blazers get a second rounder to help facilitate this trade since supposedly it wouldn't go through as is, just between Boston and Houston.
[rQUOTEr]Less than 24 hours after the Celtics pulled the trigger on a trade with the Houston Rockets to obtain Courtney Lee, the two former Celtics are not intending on making Houston their home. A league source tells WEEI.com that after his expected release from Houston, E’Twaun Moore expects to wind up in Bulls camp and get a look with former Celtics defensive guru and current Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. The source says the other player, big man JaJuan Johnson, does not expect to report to Houston and is keeping his options open. The source indicated the timeline of events are not certain and are very fluid. The trade is not expected to be affected as Johnson and Moore evaluate their options based on potential scenarios in Houston and Portland.[/rQUOTEr] http://greenstreet.weei.com/sports/...and-jajuan-johnson-leaning-away-from-houston/
What exactly does he mean, "keeping his options open"?? He does realize he has absolutely no leverage here. If he is going to get traded, he will be traded, if not he'll have to stick around.
Charlotte 2nd round pick is pretty much a first rounder. Jeffrey Taylor went at pick #31 this year - I'd take that over nothing.
Lol. They hear a name. They search for a mix or highlight vid on youtube. Some would do a little research on stats. and then BAM!!. shot 59.7% from the field. This team could use a guy like Diebler. Haha... What i don't understand is how they love guys like this, but then hate guys like howard and bynum.

The 2nd rounder that belonged to the Bobcats, is more valuable than the Celtics 1st rounder. Mauri wins again.
20M/4 years for Lee seems reasonable. but if it means we land a superstar, then I'm all for it + at very least we get to see more Maori magic with early 2nd rounders
Yeah I know, he's a damn scrub he needs to just be worried about being on a roster and receiving a pay-check. If he really wants to keep his options open I'm sure DM would be happy to let him out of his contract and he will be free to sign what ever non-garunteed contract he can get.
Unless Jajuan Johnson really is the second coming of KG, it looks like the Blazers got the better end of this trade. 2 second rounders when Rockets only get 1?
What is the difference between E Moore and Toney Douglas? Both are combo guards, but Moore is longer and has better range. Is Douglas the better defender? Moore must like to D too since he supposedly favors playing for Thibs.
Maybe, but whose 2nd-rounder(s) picks were they? If they were Boston's actual picks, then those picks will probably be in the 50's. The one pick we got could potentially between 31 and say, 35 or so. Personally, I would rather have a pick as high as 31 than a couple of picks in the 50's. Even Morey has not found much of anything useful that far down. Does anyone know the details of exactly what those two 2nd's to Portland actually were? Also, maybe they are protected, like one of the ones we already have, which is like top-50 protected, meaning we get nothing if the pick doesn't fall between 50-55, something like that. In other words, essentially useless.
Says on the Blazers official website that they got two 2013 second round picks from Boston: The Celtics had three 2013 second rounders total: their own, CHA’s, and MIN’s. Since we got CHA’s it seems like Portland got the ones from BOS and MIN.
Biggest difference: Toney Douglas has a guaranteed contract. That's the "beauty" of having extra cap room. If the Rockets strike out on Howard, they may enter the season with extra cap room to use in trades like this. They may even be able to pick up an extra first rounder or two next year. Thanks for the info. Yeah, it would have been nice to also get that BOS second rounder (Portland deserved the better pick from Minnesota), but I guess the Blazers just drove a hard bargain in agreeing to facilitate the trade.
