On the season in Greece, Diebler shot 59.7% from the field.
    45% on 3s.
    84.6% on FTs.

only played a few min. in 3 games

A guy like this could thrive playing with passers like Lin and White.

People love the unknown, despite having proven nothing in the NBA, he at least hasn't proven he can't play in the NBA, either (so we dream)...except he didn't make Portland's roster...lol

If the Rockets want to keep it that way, and have Diebler to continue to develop overseas, can't invite him to camp, right?

John Diebler is not overly athletic and doesn't play great defense but he is an ABSOLUTE deadeye. I think he can be valuable to an offense. He won't be a starter, but if we need to catch up in a game, I'd throw him in there and let him fire away.

Diebler is an ideal guy to burn teams collapsing on Dwight.

Bad news for Justin Diebler fans!

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Diebler was 2nd-round pick of Blazers in 2011. Played in Greece last season. Like E'Twaun Moore, Shaun Williams, he's not in Rockets plans..</p>&mdash; Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Feigen/status/226424768876908545" data-datetime="2012-07-20T21:14:06+00:00">July 20, 2012</a></blockquote>

Diebler is only in this deal because the Blazers by rule had to give up something.

Doubt we get rid of him. All we have are his rights. No harm in holding on to them. A deal could come along that needs us to pull a Portland one day. If he happens to improve as a player, it's all gravy.

I was under the impression that to hold on to his rights and not invite him to camp, he has to send a waiver.letter to the NBA.

In otherwords, to be held on to, he has to agree to it.

    Is that not the case?

If he's obviously not in the Rockets plans, I don't see how he allows that. In which case, I imagine he gets invited to camp as fodder, and is released.

Sounds like a guy DD would rave about.

    From Greece? Check
Played at a big program? Check
    Unathletic? Check
    White? Check
    Shooter? Check

Unrelated to the Rockets, but trade related:

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>In that 3-team trade <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523Blazers">#Blazers</a> made today, they actually received two 2nd-round picks and Sasha Pavlovic. And Celts paid Pavlovic's salary.</p>&mdash; Joe Freeman (@BlazerFreeman) <a href="https://twitter.com/BlazerFreeman/status/226438639159238656" data-datetime="2012-07-20T22:09:13+00:00">Juli 20, 2012</a></blockquote>
