I say we try to trade our assets for a disgruntled Love and go after Bynum and CP3 in the offseason. Next year we may be the only team in Miami's position to offer up to 3 star players a place to land and play together.
I think some posters in this thread may be a little fuzzy on the definition of a superstar. Ibalka Harden Josh Smith AI All are really good players, all-star caliber even but certainly not superstars and really 0 chance at becoming a superstar. While Cousins is not a superstar he is at least progressing towards, and has a legit chance of becoming a superstar.
Dude must be a superstar (or talented at the very least). I mean, how can you talk on the radio with a big penis in your mouth?
I'd say Harden has a good chance to become a superstar. The finals dud aside, he looked like a carbon copy of prime Manu Ginobili for most of the season. at 22 years nonetheless. if I had to bet who's the best SG in the league 4 years from now, I'd bet on Harden.
Imagine Lin, harden, parsons, ibaka, asik Bench: Toney Douglas, Jeremy lamb, Terrance jones, Royce white, "donuts" Easily the best bench and lin and harden can put on a show offensively!
Anyone not saying CP3 is kidding themselves. He will be the only superstar available. When Lowry was our best player and seemingly an all-star, Morey still came withing a hair of acquiring Deron Williams before Utah sent him to NJ because they are in the opposite conference. We are willing to pay Asik an identical contract to Lin and still go for Howard. It's the same with CP3. Daryl will go after an available superstar, no matter who is currently on our roster. Edit: I was speaking about next summer, assuming we have Howard. If we don't get him, I think we'll probably just see how our current squad plays out.
Josh Smith should only be a target if we actually get Dwight. But since Atlanta may pursue Howard in free agency themselves, he likely won't be available.
Probably would be the best defensive starting 5 in the league. everyone but lin in there is an elite defender at their position. its dwight, bynum, or draft.
If the Rockets can get Dwight in a Rockets Uni...Everything else will work from there...Winning changes peoples perceptions...and if Dwight has a chance to win in Houston...he may do 2 very important things... Give Houston a chance... Be able to draw another big name player(ie CP3, Josh Smith..etc)
Parsons an elite defender? Wow. Your lips must be red from all that kool aid you drinking. Please put the pitcher down and walk away slowly

Cousins, Aldridge, Love, Rondo, and Rose are all guys that may end up disgruntled with their organization and on the market.
Assume for a second we get Howard....if we don't put another star next to him he bolts after the season (and no Lin does not count). Morey better have another ace up his sleeve for J. Smith or A. Jefferson (both unrestricted FA come seasons end) or somebody otherwise I just don't get the plan. The "trade for Howard and pray" option just seems too risky....no other GM seems to think its worth the risk.
