I concur with the fact that this last movie was definitely a 10. Watching the trilogy was huge for me leading to the final movie. The thing with Nolan is that even if you can predict certain elements in his movie, he still finds a way to present in a way that is surprising you know? I was speechless last night and the experience was unforgettable.
I don't know if you meant "SwoLy, STFU, you don't even like Batman, you emmeffer", or "what do you care, you won't see it anyway"... :grin: Some people might want to see it AFTER it's on the theaters. I've seen the previous two, just not at the movies. I might see this third one. I just thought the picture was on this last one, initially. I don't remember that scene from the first one. jtotheb, you could have said Edward James Olmos, Esai Morales, Jimmy Smits, Carlos Mencía, or George Lopez. I look like none of those... maybe EM. Can you say what grade you'd give it had you not seen the previous 2 JUST BEFORE? Trying to get a feel here (that's what she said) for an experience without seeing the two before.
Me and my wife had a discussion on the end and were wondering which it is, since Nolan has a tendency to leave things both open ended, open to intepretation, and extremely layered. So... Spoiler The fact that Levitt was Robin either is a cliffhanger for a sequel/prequel/spinoff or is it just that Nolan wanted the viewer to have an "a ha!" moment there at the end when we came to the realization that Robin was in the movie the entire time we just didn't realize it.
Crane, in his first scene, also testifies on Zsazz's behalf (for the mob). But he's a cameo that's extremely easy to miss in Begins. Kudos for Nolan slipping in a character like that. Saw DKR....not over heels in love with it. It's really really good....but..... It felt like they cut a lot out (despite the 2:45 run time). It almost felt like they needed to 2-part the movie with 2+ hr chunks. Didn't love Catwoman Spoiler Overall Hathaway was fine, but she did try to hard and overact at times. The "bad girl that desperately wants to be good" angle was a little forced The romance with Wayne/Batman was borderline Highlander rushed/ridiculous A lot of things could be seen a mile away. The small humor spots were halfway dumb and didn't fit Some massive plot holes that really stuck out Spoiler Wayne knowing exactly where to find Kyle upon his return...and having the USB stick handy Again. Really, really good movie with some fantastic stuff. Brilliant blending of Knightfall and No Mans Land. I'm seeing it again Sunday. But I do come away thinking TDK remains the centerpiece of the trilogy. 8.5/10
In response to the second spoiler, Spoiler She says to the guys that they are on her side of town or something along those lines. It probably should have been explained better but in No Mans Land, Gotham is divided into sections and different gangs control different sections. I'm assuming because she helped Bane he in return let her run that side of town which I'm assuming is where she was living and Bruce had visited before.
What stings is... Spoiler The marketing for the movie making it to clear that Miranda Tate and JGL had major roles....quickly and correctly leading to heavy speculation on who they were. Both were essentially sussed out months ago. The pit switch up was a nice surprise twist, though. Also notice the R The "Robin Hood" name drop also caught my attention.
1. One more reason this may have flowed better as two 2+ hour movies. 2. Ever walk the streets of Manhattan? Even if you know someone's over in Greenwich or SoHo, you'll spend some time if you expect to run into them on foot. It was just an implausible movie moment. Fancy bumping into you here!
Those were extras that made those signs. Its not like WB/Nolan provided them. The guy holding the R frequents the SHH boards and said the extras were allowed to bring in their own signs and was pretty much just trolling with that R lol. I doubt he had any idea there was going to be a guy named Robin.
And why, exactly, was Nolan compelled to include the footage of the sign? It's not like it was a distant shot in the back corner of the scene.
How different would Bruce Wayne's outlook been if... Spoiler They had actually finished their conversation in the pit jail? The guy was about to let him know that the child was actually not Bane but Miranda. It was at that point that he stopped himself (or did someone stop him?) and said that Bane wouldn't want the story told.
