I also still really do not see why Orlando would want Bynum, even with an extension, given that it would mean keeping all of their bad contracts (except maybe one of the very small ones which isn't even that bad), and getting no draft picks. With no flexibility I think that would just stick them on the mediocrity treadmill for the next few years.

Coming from a GM who keeps talking about doing an OKC type rebuild... that just doesn't seem to fit his vision.

Right. Didn't one of the reports out there say that Orlando has concerns about Bynum's knees as well?

The longer this drags out the more concerned I am becoming with OKC. That's all I'm gonna say right now.

Not worried about Lakers, Cleveland, or anybody else.

It is in our best interest to close the deal sooner rather than later.

With Dwight nor Bynum willing to commit to re-signing to any team, i say this would be our deal to lose.

Any team who would trade for Dwight would have the best possible chance of keeping him long term since they would he able to offer the biggest contract deal and there will be limited options out there in the market aince most contending teams are capped out.

If i may add, there's no point in facilitating a deal to send Dwight to LA and make em the best in the West, at least. With the way our offseason has gone so far, its becoming more and more clear that Morey will go after Dwight. No more of that bridesmaid role of being facilitators.

You lose Lowry, Dragic, Lee, Budinger, Scola, Dalembert, Camby and possibly Martin and more.. That's last year's entire rotation. And you do this just to facilitate a trade to send a superstar to the Lakers? Yeah, right.

Dwight will be a member of this team as early as next week. No need for sources. Its pretty much obvious what our organization is doing already.

I am also concerned about some team nobody is talking about such as the Thunder coming out of nowhere and offering a guy like Harden. In my opinion if the rockets have a chance to make the trade and all that it is keeping it from being consummated is a player like terrence jones we should just pull the trigger.

Reality of the matter is none of us know what is really holding up this trade. From my observation the rockets have the best package to offer the magic at this time.

Dwight want be a Rocket,he already said he has no interest in Houston at least he told LA he would be interested in signing. If anything we will have Bynum in a 3 team deal with Orl/LA.

Let's play the "random team that nobody is talking about that could get Dwight" game...

Already have OKC on the board. I'm going with the Warriors.

    Who's next?

That's great. If only Dwight were a free agent, then he might be able to decide those things.

Bulls perhaps are the only other team I see making a play

Don't need drama or damaged goods. I say lets stick with our best option and let the other teams screw themselves.

This is absolutely spot on. The trade deadline in February is prime time for player movement and having Howard on the team now gives the team an oppertunity to trade Howard at that time if he is not working out or trade for pieces to put around him. Either way it gives your team a serious advantage to have Howard in place now as opposed to adding him in February.

None of that even takes into account the money the team would lose out on by not being able to market Howard from now until the trade deadline. If Orlando can get a veteran like Martin, one of our high profile rookies, a couple of picks while shedding two bad contracts now, then waiting til the trade deadline probably loses them one of our rookies and at least a pick.

I like Harden, so don't get me wrong. But is he that good to decide to build an entire team around? If you were to take the Thunder, remove Durant, Westbrook, and maybe Ibaka, would we be looking at OKC and saying "gee, that is an up-and-coming team"? I wouldn't.

Maybe I am completely wrong (wouldn't be the first time, nor the last), but if I am building from scratch, I want a good shot at a very high lottery pick... better yet, multiple shots at high lottery picks, than a young, very good SG.

So... unless OKC has a few #1s they have collected from other teams I don't know about, the picks they can offer will always be late first rounders (especially if ORL trades them Howard).

My bet is that the same teams that are likely destinations for Howard are the same ones before: LAL, NJN, and NYK.

"Fear is the mind-killer". The surest way to over-pay for the Dwightmare is to worry about another team swooping in and trading for him. You've got to be confident that you have what Orlando needs, and you always have to be willing to walk away. So far, it seems like Morey is playing this one perfect; otherwise, Hennigan would have accepted our deal already.

The NYK are definitely not in the realm of likely destinations for Dwight.

If the Rox get Dwight in a trade, can they sign-and-trade him (and transfer Bird rights) next summer if he is intent on not extending?

#1 you STFU, if you dont have anything to post about the rockets dont talk to me
#2 You think i care if iam annoying you or not?

Check back and look at my posts refuting every bs report that was coming out, ive been correct on almost everything i said , while weve seen stupid fans come on here saying theyll stop cheering our team if we trade for dwight...guess what WHO CARESS!!

We arent here to make fans watch players "they grew up" with as people have said, iam sick of fans defending the mediocrity we have been in for the past 5 years... its like now that we have these rookies +lin+asik well be better than #14, WAKE UP CALL TO EVERYONE.... we will NOT , well be stuck in this ****hole for the next 7 years.

Finally Morey is trying to make his move for the superstar everyone on here has been crying about for ages and half the fans are calling for his job, or threatening to quit the team...iam sick of these responses because they r
    Unwarranted.
Fans here act like every rumor is 100% true, when posters on this forum have warned that these reports r either false or not totally correct...so instead of posting silly and pointless rants, wait until something is actually official before you shoot it down....

Dwight isn't signing an extension anywhere. He's going into free agency and looking for a max contract. An extension doesn't do that.
