Ben Wallace has a career TO% of 13.8%.

Asik was at 25% last year.

Ben Wallace wasn't a negative to his team offensively. Asik is. Ben Wallace did dominated starters, Asik shuts down backup centers in a league that has very few. Asik is nowhere near the athlete Ben Wallace was.

Yeah, this is the essential evidence that needs to be thrown in the face of any Rockets fan longing for the days of CD. He's a nice guy and all and a fine big man coach, but Jesus, those deals kill progress for a team.

Neither of you read my other posts on that page or the page before it. Nowhere did I say anything about keeping Camby, or who would be better next year.

Have you seen the stats I pulled on Asik's 5 career starts?

    32.4mpg 5pts 8.4 reb

Thank god for the game against the Bobcats, the worst team in NBA history where he grabbed 15 rebounds, because he averaged 6.75 rebounds without it.

    BTW, Asik is 26

    Exactly.

Given "MadMax's" name, I assume he values defense...lol.

In no way am I saying Asik will get us to this level, but memories of the first championship team... man... game that would be close or you'd be nervous about - to just watch them turn up the defensive intensity and pull away - was AWESOME.

Definitely want to see us get back to making teams WORK and struggle for their points.

And Ben Wallace was not as tall as Asik.

You are taking a very simple point about players with specialist skillsets occasionally having a bigger impact than more well rounded players and acting as though he was claming Asik was Ben Wallace's maternal twin.

Ss far as I know, nobody is claiming that Asik.will win multiple DPOY's, either.

People bringing up CD as GM need to know that Rudy T had equal power in personnel decisions, don't know if he got involved in the dollar and cents part.

So any confirmation Asik actually signed yesterday(or whenever it was) after that SL game?

Do the Rockets have any cap space left after signing Asik?

Im sorry if I missed something but wasn't Friday the earliest Asik could sign since we have to wait 48 hours after waiving 2 players yesterday?

Yeah, that's what Feigen said. Chicago newspaper said he signed the offer sheet after/on the night of the Rockets/Bulls SL game.

Anyone know where I can find the ESPN countdown of how long the Bulls have to match Asik's offer?

Would y'all bring in Robin Lopez as a backup to Asik....runs the floor real well and still is a seven footer...don't really see Suns matching an offer sheet for him (Gortat, Scola, Frye and Warrick) will get bulk of minutes at 4 and 5 positions. Need another defensive seven footer cause Asik does commit silly fouls. Just a thought

I wasn't the one that compared the 2. Asik is one of the worst offensive players ever.

You obviously don't know me. Guys I thought would suck and were good in Houston? Bob Sura, Deke, Carl Landry, and I'm sure there are others. There were certainly signings/trades I liked that didn't work out like Mike James, Steve Francis, Stromile Swift, and Mo Taylor.

I've watched a lot of Bulls games last year, and it was just brutal. I'd see him make a good play, and then make 2 bad ones.

I hope Asik magically gains hands. I'm even more afraid that his defense may not be as good without Thibs.

We had that last year with Camby / Dalembert?

    Lin / Douglas
    Martin / Lamb
    Parsons / Jones
Motiejunas / White (All can go off scoring wise on any night we need defense at center)

Asik and Lopez would just man the middle ( rebound, block shots, garbage buckets and hit the outlet man) so we don't need them to have offensive game! Think bro
