    He's not getting waived. Salary for this coming season is guaranteed. After that, both years are team options.

    I am confused by this. What's not good about a 2nd round pick from a bad team and some non/partially guaranteed contracts to trade for what otherwise would be nothing?

    The Rockets are bad situation for him though. They've got a kabillion PFs and he has a team option after this coming season.
