Um, nice try. First off, Varejao is NOT expiring.

Moreover, "they've got multiple 1st rounders, so do we" is about the most misleading post you can possibly make. By this logic, the Rockets had a better draft than New Orleans this year, because we ended up with three players to their two. In reality, New Orleans clearly had the better draft picks because they were in position to pick up more elite talent.

In the Cavs-Houston comparison, the Rockets have a guaranteed lottery pick to offer. Cleveland does not. End of story.

You think Lamb level of beast mode on his own peers wont translate to the big boy's?

    You're buggin!

Kid has all the tools and the jumper will still hit buckets in the big show just like they did in summer league.

Unless they raised or changed the shape of the rim?

Downplay all u want....but the real is your guarded optimism sounds like you want the man to fail.

    Clearly he wont.

    You mad about that?

Varejao is not expiring. He's got 3 years and over $28 million left

Varejao is not expiring, and don't forget that Cleveland's picks will surely be crap. Our Toronto pick is MUCH more valuable.

I'm sure he'll be playing in the All-Star Game in Houston next year, much like Dan Langhi and Donte Greene. After all, their jumpers still hit buckets in the big show just like they did in the summer league. :)

Shooters have hot streaks, dude. It happens. And yes, defenders are better in true NBA games. Better at closing out, better at spacing, better at getting a hand up in your face, longer, faster, stronger, smarter.

Anyway nobody said Lamb's game WON'T translate, what's being said is that we don't KNOW if it will translate. He is still an unknown because guess what, he's an unproven #12 pick who hasn't played a single NBA game.

By the way, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon-Journal (Cavs beat writer) pretty much debunked all the Cleveland nonsense in the past 20 minutes. For those that haven't seen:

He's clearly not buggin. Summer league performance does not have much impact on your perceived value. That's a cold hard fact.

Looks about even. The reports yesterday saying the Cavs were ahead of the Rockets didn't mention the Cavs would take back contracts so I figured we had that advantage. But I really don't know anymore. I just want this to end.

Where Waiters, Lamb, White, Zeller, and Jones were picked is irrelevant. What matters is how Orlando values them. Hell, they might like DMo the most and he was taken #21 in a supposedly weaker draft. We have the ability to offer at least as much as Cleveland and are gunning for Dwight directly. I like our chances.

There are also reports floating around (unknown how accurate) that Cleveland is unwilling to give up any of their prospects, only draft picks. Take that with a grain of salt.

I agree... Summer League doesn't mean much. For example, look at the stats from a few years back:

    http://www.nba.com/summerleague2007/statistics/index.jsp
    http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/statistics/index.jsp
    http://www.nba.com/summerleague2009/statistics/index.jsp

The fact of the matter is that there is no direct correlation between success in summer league with scoring/rebounding/assists during the regular season. Heck no correlation with playing time either.

What I also don't get is why people bash D-League constantly then turn around and act like Summer League matters? The competition in SL is only a small tick above D-League...

Really tired of people comparing Donte Greene to Jeremy Lamb.

    Stop this.

Im just wondering who is going to be this years "T-Will"

You know, the guy that cant get off the bench, but apparently is a star in waiting according to Clutchfans. Its just that McHale sucks, and Morey is an idiot, and they are the ones holding him back.

Cats are in here arguing the point as if he won't....masked behind "relax! It's summer league...Dan Langhi" etc.

Appears as if the intention is to dump ice water.

Whatever the case....I'm in the Lamb will be a good to great camp.

I feel he will be just fine with all the scenarios you mention above.

He like every other rookie adjusts and keeps it moving.

    The tools are there.

    People need to stop frontin.

At least you are coming around. Seems like not too long ago you didn't think we had a snowball's chance in Hades of trading for Dwight.

I always thought we had a chance... never thought it was better than 50% until recently. You may turn out to be right after all. /fingerscrossed
