Wait, Woj works for BSPN? Are you sure about that?

When you want definite, you stick with Woj.

If there's any lesson the Linsanity saga taught us is that we can't really know who's going to be or not be a "superstar" for sure. Only Anthony Davis in this draft is projected to be a superstar. Everybody else is in the same tier. You look at Thomas Robinson and Jeremy Lamb and every GM now would take the one picked #12 over the one picked #4.

Bingo. It's amazing how much easier these hypothetical trades look when you're not actually in the situation. The "we'll figure it out later" mentality is what keeps teams on the treadmill for years.

If there's a star-caliber player in the top three of next year's draft, a package of, say, picks 8, 12 and future first rounder is not going to get it done. We had only slightly worse picks this year (12/16/18), and even in a deeper-than-usual draft, offering those picks and Lowry STILL wasn't enough to get in position for a "franchise player".

This team needs a franchise player to have any hope at contending. If we can get one now, that's much preferable to the wait-and-hope philosophy that so many seemingly want to adopt.

No. You said these quotes yourself in this very thread.

How do you gauge that? All I've been hearing is CAVS/FAKERS/MAGIC. Where have you been?

I'm glad we are not involved in this ****. Giving up our future for a rent-a-player, **** that.

The last info from Woj is that the Rockets are "relentless" in their pursuit of Howard, and he strongly believes a deal will get done. Mejia echoes that assessment. The only people pumping this Cleveland 3-way nonsense are ESPN and RealGM. Thus, you're pretty clearly allowing ESPN (and not Woj) to shape your opinions, if you think the Rockets aren't involved.

I don't think there's a single GM in basketball that would take Jeremy Lamb over Thomas Robinson. It's one week of Summer League basketball. My goodness, relax.

    Yep.

And, if we get Dwight and he walks, we might just find ourselves with one of those coveted top 5 draft picks and then we can actually rebuild.

Seriously. People are WAY overhyping our rookies.

Yeah people saying "#12 picks almost never pan out!" or whatever need to knockitoff. If there was a redraft post summer league Jeremy Lamb would have gone top 10 EASY. DMo and Terrence Jones would have been drafted higher as well.

We're in a good place to rebuild if we strike out on Dwight (and i'm iffy on Bynum because the injuries scare me- if it hadn't been for YaoMac i'd be more warm to the idea). Our rookies are good but they aren't THAT good. OKC/Seattle was still terrible with Kevin Durant. I like our rooks, but they aren't Kevin Durant. We would lose badly and get a high draft pick that gives a solid shot at #1 AND we would have a guaranteed Toronto lottery in the pipe.

We're in a good place folks. Our offseason fortunes took a 180 after the Nets deal blew up and our rookies started to prove (once again) that Morey is very, very good at drafting.

Have you seen Thomas Robinson play in summer league? LOL. Dude's a bust. I'm calling it right now.

If it wasn't for The Cat, jopatmc, OremLK, and BimaThug (and of course Daryl Morey himself), I think I would feel like I'm the only one who isn't losing the forest for the trees.

Umm....no. I don't allow BSPN to "shape my opinions". You really cleared that assumption up that I followed BSPN to find out that ****. Have you heard of ClutchFans?

How did you even know it was BSPN and RealGM pumping out that rumor?

Eventually, Woj will weed out all this bull**** and give me the real story. You can continue to cruise BSPN and RealGM for some Warriors/76ers/Raptors bull**** trade rumors.

    BS.

Proof is in the pudding and hindsight will dictate that they just might.

What pudding? Donte Greene and Dan Langhi were Summer League phenoms. Where are they now?

The "pudding" starts in actual NBA games.

They have Waiters, Thompson and Zeller to our Lamb, White, and Jones.
They've got multiple 1st rounders, so do we.
Varejao is expiring for them, Martin is expiring for us.

So, yes. Magic are deciding between the Cavs and Rockets, based on what I'm reading.

You think front offices didn't already know Lamb's abilities? They knew he could score when hot. The fact that he was a hot scorer in 5 summer league games doesn't change anything. Robinson was drafted where he was because he has higher upside and brings more different things to the table.

I also can't believe anyone would call a guy a bust based on a few summer league games. But then, this is ClutchFans, knee-jerkiest of the knee-jerky, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

If CF was a patient, the doctor testing its reflexes would have a broken jaw.
