There is a lot of hypotheticals involved here. Point is he said that Houston wants Dwight, Orlando wants Houston, yet this "insider" seems very hung up on Bynum to Houston for some reason. He has not let us know why.
Agree with Cat 100%. Any report that starts with Orlando taking Varejao definitely makes you roll your eyes (based on what we all KNOW Hennigan is looking for). The ONLY way I see that happening is if Morey simply refused to give up something specific and just played hardball and stuck to his guns. He can CRUSH their offer. The question is at this point, will he. I'm still rolling with Jop's mindset has been and Dwight ends up in Houston.
Didn't realize they had that many first rounders to play with. Still not buying it due to Orlando "having" to take Varejao though. But, if Cleveland got crazy or desperate enough to give up four or five first rounders, sure...lol. However, if all the rumors of just how hard Cleveland is to deal with are true, I doubt seriously they'd give up more than two first round picks.
The Cavs have $16M in expirings. No way Varajeo is involved unless he would be going to LAL. I do believe the Cavs aren't truly going to throw all their picks and take back bad contracts. We've still got 2 weeks before the Cavs can even complete a trade involving their rookies.
I think it looks like LA. Thats a PERSONAL opinion. I told you yesterday that it was looking like Dwight was opening up to the Lakers. Kobe made those comments which helped as well. This morning ESPN reports what I said was true. Now... Lets see what ORL wants... It is all in their hands... They can pull something off right before training camp if they wanted.
It certainly is looking that way, Cyberx. BTW, can I ask you... what is the perception / impression among the various front office folks and agents about Bynum's injury issues (since his knees are like, sending warning signals to every basketball team out there)? Is he worth taking on with such an injury history and many risks going forward? Thanks for the info BTW. Much appreciated.
Many teams think its worth the risk. His injuries were honestly "freak injuries". Player literally FELL on his knees I believe twice. Kobe did it once and hated himself for it. Now he has been told to wear knee braces on both knees to protect him. He wore them and now look. Also, he want to Germany to get that amazing knee procedure and that should help as well.
Lakers are currently talking to Cleveland. People in CLE told me it looks like it will eventually get DONE. I am with you as to why would Varejo be involved? I really don't see how that makes sense? But, the talks ARE there... If Dwight wants LA, LA prefers to throw Bynum in the east where it won't haunt them as much. (see Shaq to Miami)
So your thinking we miss out on Bynum and Howard... cant see morey letting that happen...not after all he has done. I just dont see how cle can out bid us... if they are doing that why dont we go get a team that can spare a young center and do a 3 way that blows them out of the water?
So, from what you hear and what you know, what are the percentages that Bynum goes to CLE and what are the percentages that Bynum comes to HOU?
Of course the talks are there, I don't think anybody is doubting that. Just like the NJ-CLE talks were "there". Bottom line is that there's no way the Lakers and Cavs can come up with a package that trumps Morey's. So, unless Cleveland or Orlando is willing to absolutely bend over and take it up the butt for the Lakers' sake... this is all just a bunch of hot air.
In that scenario (LA not wanting to trade Bynum to a conference foe) our chances are better at getting in a bidding war with LA/CLE vs. joining forces with LA.
Then risk getting Fegan mad? Also Dwight is very close to many players... How do you think this looks? Do you know how many players want to play w/Dwight? Sometimes you have to choose your wars carefully in this business. It isn't as simple as you think it is. Trust me.
