If Dwight wants to win, he should have taken it seriously the first time instead of clowning around. But he is right though, he's not going to be able to win it if he's the number 1 option. He needs to be the 2nd option behind another superstar. Dwight Howard is not a major scoring machine to carry the main load.

I'm not going to blame Howard.

However, can the rest of us finally let this Dwight dream go and continue on hating him?

First I've ever heard T-Mac was about winning, ha.

But yes. It's true that Dwight is all about the market. No coincidence that as soon as New York/Brooklyn is closed to him, he picks the second-largest market.

um yes you can. because if you're allegedly great, then you can carry a team to greatness, ask hakeem. Seriously Bizzaro has one of the biggest vjs in the nba. He even has to think about going to the Lakers.

His concern isn't winning..it's spooning and forking with his Bffs.

Exactly, we still have to give something up. I know we love these rookies but summer league can be deceiving sometimes

Who cares if Dwight's a Laker. Let them have the West for a couple years, we'll take the next 10 after that.

After all those years in Orlando with Otis Smith spending insane money trying to assemble a team around DH to win a chip can you blame DH for wanting to go to a team that seems like a ready made suit to win a championship.

Morey should be happy that he won't be able to bring DH to Houston as a rental because it would have cost him all those draft picks and Howard when he signed somewhere else.

Not sure if this (Howard willing to resign with LA) changes anything. LA was already looking to trade for him, regardless. Problems with Bynu's willingness & Cavs trades still exist, else this would be over.
If anything, its good news for the Rockets, because they now have the possibility of trading Howard at the trade deadline to LA if things don't work out.
That said, this doesn't mean that Dwight won't end up elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure that's the problem tho.

Everyone else has built a super team or has one in the making so how do you expect to beat those teams without having at least two superstars together on your team, now-a-days.

Like the poster after you said, I think Cavs have shown they're more than willing (according to reports).

This could turn out really bad for us, hopefully Asik gets resolved soon and we have a better picture of how this plays out.

    :(

I really don't care what happens at this point. If we get him great, if we get Bynum then great too, if we get neither and build around Lin, Asik, and the rookies then I'm cool with that too.

    This is flawed thinking.

"Who cares if the Lakers have Shaq. Let them have the West for a couple years, we'll take the next 10 after that."

"Who cares if the Lakers have Gasol. Let them..."

The Lakers are going to keep staying on top of the West as long as teams keep helping them acquire the next star. The only way they are going to fall off is if teams stop trading them great players and make them wallow in their cap hell and mediocrity that is soon to come.

You think they get Dwight, win a few times and then stink. Truth is, they'll get Dwight and win and then some team will take one of their bad contracts for a useless pick and then another star player will refuse to go anywhere but LA and they'll be instant contenders again.

STOP HELPING THE LAKERS WIN TITLES!
