I hear what you are saying, but if someone Morey sees an opportunity to get Bynum, who he feels will definitely re-up (without having to CONVINCE), and let's say keep Lamb... does he feel that value makes Bynum the "better play"?

I'm sure Orlando will see that if we're getting Bynum instead of Howard, we're likely not going to give up "quite as much".

Maybe I'm just dreaming - and wanting the cake and to eat it too....lol.

Having the best offer to Orlando doesn't mean we are able to beat LA+Cleveland in getting Dwight. LA has the history of getting whatever they want despite having a bad offer on paper. Remember how they get Pau Gasol with Kwame Brown? You honestly think this is the best offer Memphis can get? It'd be better to be involved in a 3-way to get Bynum instead of forcing our way solely for Dwight. After all the hassles getting rid of Dalembert, Dragic, Lowry and Scola, we may end up with nothing after all.

And I would be fine with giving up Lamb if that's all the extra they want. But honestly even that trade scenario I listed, is still better than Cleveland's best offer.

Everyone KNOWS what Hennigan wants - and trust me, it's NOT Varajao.

Not to mention 2 of the 3 or 4 picks they give up will be MIAMI's pick which will assuredly be #28-30 both times. Cavs' offer sucks ass.

They'll be willing to accept less if it is better than anything else they could get.

Is he playing Cho, for his most prized asset in Michael-Kidd Gilchrist to use in the Magic trade?

Other GMs are playing checkers. Morey is playing ping-pong.

On a separate note, why the hell would Howard resign long-term with the Lakers? Doesn't he know that Nash and Bryant are near the end of their careers? Who knows how long they'll be productive. He would be stuck playing with Gasol and a bunch of scrubs after Nash and Bryant retire. Why would want to be stuck on a mediocre team for the prime years of his career when he could be on an up and coming team like the Rockets with a young star like Lin?

They can't beat our offer in that regard, either. We have as much ability to absorb salary if not moreso.

    @TonyMejiaNBA

From @JRudolphSports: http://tinyurl.com/czq9hmp My take-Howard making it known to Rockets he'd rather chase rings in LA than be part of Linsanity

We'd still want Howard either way. We have the best offer and can just say we aren't willing to facilitate him to the Lakers.

He doesn't care who he plays with. He just wants to play in a "sexy" market. Why do you think he wants to play in Brooklyn even before they were sure to retain D-Will and got Joe Johnson?

Guarantee you if you ask Howard he would say Lin is not a star.

F*** that. We can beat CLE's best offer with our worst. Why on earth would we let them walk away with Andrew Bynum almost for free?

Well, Orlando could either be stuck with Cleveland's less intriguing offer, and trade Howard to the lakers for mid round draft picks, or trade Howard to Houston straight up for what they have to offer. Im not saying the Rockets shouldn't go after Bynum if the price is low, i'm just saying they shouldn't give up near as many assets as they would have for Howard. Unless Houston can get Bynum at a low cost, i see no need for a three way trade involving Houston.
Idk, i'm not the GM though. Im sure they know best.

Dwight knows they will retire in the next 3 or so years. They all come off the books in 2014 or 15, where the Lakers will transition to having Howard as the main guy and sign max free agents like Love.

Howard does not want Houston...for that fact alone let him go where they want to trade him...If Bynum is willing to sign long term in the H and the Rockets give up less..thats a great deal..especially if it means keeping Lamb
