Classic DD "dodge the question" strategy. All I asked for was list of gm you thought were better. If he's nowhere near the top, this shouldn't hard at all.
Aaron Brooks/Kyle Lowry Tracy McGrady/Von Wafer Ron Artest/Shane Battier Luis Scola/Carl Landry/Chuck Hayes Yao Ming/Dikembe Mutumbo
either way we were gong to "overpay" a point guard..either it was Lin or it was Dragic. since both put up very similar numbers when starting, i think it comes down to the little things. Lin is younger, has more potential, brings more market value, and doesn't have a 4th year player option. bow! 8 million a year isnt even overpaying. as for asik. im sorry but have you noticed how horrible the average center is in the NBA? if you can get a center who is an elite defender, a great rebounder, he is already an above average center. therefore overpaying him is not a very big deal to me..and i would much rather overpay asik than have patterson play Center lol.
So are you saying teams with the better GM's have the best talent? And that the teams without the talent its because of bad GM's? If that's the case then Cleveland had a great GM to draft LeBron #1 instead pf Darko, then Miami had an even greater GM to sign him away from Cleveland. And I guess Orlando had a great GM for drafting Dwight Howard instead of Ben Gordon, and so did OKC when they drafted Durant instead of Al Horford, and I can't forget about Chicago taking the major leap of faith by drafting D.Rose over Michael Beasley. There are obviously other good GM's in the NBA but a lot of them have fallen into pretty good situations that make them look WAAAAAY better than they are. And please tell us who you call a good GM, because I can guarantee he has as many bad moves as everyone else (Including Mr.Morrey)
Morey is a legendary GM who is the godfather of the basketball version of the money ball system who has always drafted great talented players without a high end draft pick. Not to mention he is a computer science major who graduated from MIT. Morey haters are just mad that they are stupid & unsuccessful. Complete opposite of Morey.
No, you don't get it, son. You started a thread on a completely subjective basis, and I quote: It is like asking people: Morey is overpaying scrubs, he is stupid, right? you first assume "overpaying" and "scrubs", while these two terms are still up to debate. You don't know what is a debate, so stop this kind pointless thread. Thank you
This^^^ We have/had more talent then at least 8 teams that drafted ahead of us in the lottery just for argument's sake I'll point the teams out we have had more talent than: 1. Charlotte 2. Toronto 3. New Orleans (Maybe not anymore) 4. Washington 5. Golden State 6. Cleveland 7. Detroit 8. Portland And it could be argued that we had more talent than Phoenix and Milwaukee....but the question is who are the good/smart GMs????
I am neither a Morey fan or a Morey hater. From what I see on these posts is a group arguing that he is a genius and giving examples and another group arguing that he is not smart and giving examples. Morey has made good moves and regrettable ones and as time goes on he probably will continue to do both. Even with advanced statistics and player evaluations you can never be sure how things will turn out, genius or not. Right now I am more concerned on the efforts to get Howard or could turn out good or bad and we will find out next year.
I agree I don't think he is a genius either, I do however think he has done more than enough for us to not call him an idiot or a terrible GM. I mean thats David Khan type stuff, where an entire fanbase is waiting on their GM to screw something up. I feel like with Daryl Morrey we don't ever get that feeling. If anything his main criticism should be that he has never been able to reel in the big fish.....which could be about to change very soon. Btw for what its worth according to Bleacherreport.com he is considered one of the top 10 GMs in the NBA....http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1218264-ranking-the-10-best-general-managers-in-the-nba#/articles/1218264-ranking-the-10-best-general-managers-in-the-nba/page/2
Is DM smart? We will know if he gives up the farm for an injured DH who doesn't want to be here! Some will say that move is genius, others will say it is stupid. I fall in line with the latter mainly due to the injury. Time will tell.
You're a utter r****d if you believe we have more talent than any of those team outside of maybe Charlotte.Who's our franchise player? Jeremy Lin Portland= LaMarcus Aldrige New Orleans= Eric Gordon Washington=John Wall Detroit= Greg Monroe Cleveland= Kyrie Irving Milwaukee=Brandon Jenning Golden State= Stephen Curry Toronto=Andrea Bargani Each one of those teams have players ANY team would take over Jeremy Lin. Our best player's a back up PG who played well 25 games, yet you somehow think we're more talented than these team. You're a idiot lol. You're so blinded by you're lovefest for Morey you've slipped into a state of denial with the rest of you're buddies. It's not even CLOSE. The worst person on that list is Bargani, and I'd take his butt over Lin ANYDAY. Say you wouldnt? I dare you? You guys have absolutely no knowledge of basketball outside of PER stats and boxscores.
My post was in response to you including last year as well. We obviously don't even have a complete team now. But if all of these teams have so much more talent than us, why are they perennially in the top 10 of the lottery. You can't just point at one player and say because of that one player they have more talent. THAT is the statement of a r****d.
If Morey acquires Howard or Bynum with Jeremy Lin without giving up all the rookies you got to crown him!!!
But they ALL have franchise players to build around lol. Who did we have? Goran Dragic So if all those teams have a young nucleus to build around and all we have is a 25 game run, turnover prone injury riddled point guard, then how the HELL is Morey doing such a great job? I don't see it. Jeremy Lamb is the best thing Morey's done in 2 years. You guys don't really believe that now we Lin we're set long term.
