Rotation orders are impossible to define. There is so much that goes in to that. Bottom-line is he backed up Noah and put up good numbers when out there. Whether he can translate those same numbers over a larger amount of playing time is up in the air, but I think so. Regardless, people that get paid to watch basketball and monitor these moves all agree that as long as Asik can do what he has been doing, the contract is not a stretch.
We played Lowry and Dragic together too. That doesn't mean Lee is fourth in the rotation. He's first SG off the bench and a starter on several teams.
I was just told backups don't get better, but if you aren't first off the bench, they obviously get better. Marcin Gortat had big games starting in place of Howard. The Rockets offered him the max we could (MLE). He signed with Dallas instead and Orlando matched it. He then started playing 25mpg in Orlando before he was traded the Phoenix Suns. Gortat posted great defensive and offensive ratings in his limited minutes. Asik has done that on one side of the court.
Courtney Lee averaged 30.3mpg Martin 31.6 Dragic 26.5 Lowry 32.5 Noah 30.4 Boozer 29.5 Gibson 20.4 Asik 14.7 You see the difference?
Teams barely play defense in the Summer League. Interior defense is a weakness (we have no center). If we have Howard/Bynum, interior defense isn't much of a problem.
Morey thinks it's a good deal, but he also thought Trevor Ariza was a good deal. Experts generally agree the Rockets are overpaying, but also feel they have to pry him away from Chicago. Omer Asik has started 5 games: 38 minutes 6pts 15reb 33 minutes 4pts 6reb 23 minutes 1pts 6reb 28 minutes 4pts 6reb 39 minutes 10pts 9reb Are you starting to feel impressed?
Lee averaged 30 mpg because he started half the season due to Martin's shoulder injury. Look how many minutes he got the year before.
Yeah, I feel the same way, but that's(bolded statement) is kind of what we're banking on at this point I guess. Otherwise we know what we'll be this season.
We're also going nowhere with whoever else starts at C. I don't know if you've noticed but we're rebuilding homie.
Seriously? 4-5 in the game he scored 10. I don't recall the others, and don't feel like looking it up. I can say he didn't shoot well, but I don't recall him ever taking more than 6 shots in any game.
