I think its mainly the Knicks fans that are used to their horrible front office have been spreading this false information. They simply assumed that Morey and co. are as r****ded as their FO who have managed a 180million dollar pay roll at some stage for guys like Eddy Curry, Zach Randolph. Morey upped the offer after Knicks arrogantly declared "match up to a billion".
Endorsement deals will flood in for other rockets players, Lin will sign with multiple Chinese companies and the owner, Les Alexanders will be in it for sure.
Both. Rockets need a PG after breaking up with Goran, and Lin definitely is the best that is available for now.
Heh, I was JUST about to bring up how one major movie critic of the 1930s infamously called The Wizard of Oz "stupid and unimaginative," or something to that effect. I actually have a collection of dead-wrong critic quotes in one of my books--another called Jaws a yawner. Not to mention how EVERYONE thought Star Wars: A New Hope would bomb...
The argument that the Rockets shouldn't have upped their offer once the Knicks decided to match out of some unwritten code defies common sense. The rockets wanted Lin and realized they were going to be outbid so they upped their offer as motivated buyer would. The fact that the Knicks were in cap jail and couldnt match is a direct result of them outbidding the Rockets for guys like Anthony and Amare in the past. Turnabout is fair play.
+1. If we don't get Dwight, or Bynum and if we didn't get Lin, just think how empty the Toyota Center will be. Remember when Yao was the first pick, I believe everyone questioned his ability, or will he be able to handle Houston. Now, we have a player that gave us a sample in NYC and simply he may be more splashier than Yao. And Lin who seems to have a good work ethic, importantly comes from a good background meaning he will not be a troublemaker those alone is worth the money for Lin. We are getting a team player (Yao), not a team killer (Melo).
If they really wanted Goran they could have paid him... This was more about Les getting his Cash Cow 2.0. No disrespect to Lin in any way and as JVG said, Lin will be a good player in the NBA.. But he was not worth that much money. T_Man
Thats what kills me. Your coach is telling everyone that the Knicks absolutely will match. Your front office is telling everyone that you will match the original offer. The Rox need a PG badly, SO WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK MOREY WOULD DO? Frigging morons in NY. Gah. They say stupid things like "Lin shouldn't have signed the contract if he wanted to stay in NY". THERE WAS NO OTHER OFFER. The Knicks NEVER made him an offer despite having the ability to give him the SAME contract but spread out evenly over 4 years. What did these idiots want Lin to do? It was the Rox offer or nothing else. My head is about to blow up from listening to these morons on the radio.
