Seriously, where was he gonna play? At the 4 (his natural position)? Over pat, jones, d-mo, and white? At the 5? Backing up Asik? To me, Jordan is the bigger surprise given leuer's contract guarantee. Jordan is actually a talented 7 foot center prospect.
the top three in scoring in the summer league are lamb, jones, and then parsons...white doesn't even make the top 5 in scoring during the summer league. If the summer league is a competition then royce is really scoring low.

Meh typical whining on this board. Leuer can play but he's nothing special and was on the deep end of long depth chart for his position. Nothing of real value lost here.

No not leuer, leuer was physical freak, is 6'11.5 and has a 36.5 inch vert. Thats CRAZY, he also has great agility, speed and quickness for a 4. 5.4 body fat, 7'0 wingspan....were gonna regret this. Harrelson, fortson, dimond should of went first.
Leuer is a quality player. Not particularly happy by this move. So what if his contract becomes guaranteed after today, he proved last season he can be a solid contributor and his salary isn't much anyway. As for not being a tradeable piece til next month, it still isn't a big deal. No harm in keeping him unless I'm missing some salary cap reason for cutting him. Brockman, Simpson and Fortson should've easily been cut instead of Leuer. I didn't want Jordan gone either but he was unproven (albeit has potential).
