Is there some reason Royce White could not be developed into a point guard? He would be fantastic in that role, if he can handle the ball-handling duties, night-in and nigh-out. He certainly looked fantastic playing the point at times during this game.

Also, here is the box score for this game:

    http://www.nba.com/summer-league/games/20120717/PORHOU/gameinfo.html

One thing that really stood out to me from this box score is: Marcus Morris - DNP - Coach's Decision.

The guy was the number 14 pick in the draft last year. And in his second year he cannot even break into the rotation in the summer league? Something is wrong here, and it probably is not just that "he sucks," which might be the knee-jerk reaction from some of the local armchair brainiacs around here.

Watching the 4th game now, after Lamb set's up Jones for a huge alley oop bucket in transition, announcer Sam Mitchell( former NBA coach of the year) says ...

" I don't know what people are thinking but Orlando may want to re-think some of these pieces, cause these young guys from Houston can flat out play"

    Defense?

I love him too, but someone has to be able to guard Paul, Parker, Nash, Westbrook, Lawson, Connely, Dragic, Rubio, Lillard and so on.

    LMAO!

    Speaks volumes......

I do however think they just want to have the 1st years and recent signers playing to see what they have with them.

But you do not necessarily have to match point to point or center to center. Maybe White would just thrown the entire lineup off if he was a full-time point. nevertheless, I cannot recall having seen more than a very few point guards of any size who have White's passing ability.

Maybe you are right and it is just not feasible. But watching him handle and pass the ball, I cannot help but wonder....

Really? I did not know that. Thanks for sharing that info.

I would like to see Morris come on and become a great small forward. Which I think will have to be his position, because Patterson, Jones and Motiejunas are all going to be much better than Morris at the 4 (although I would not be surprised to see D-Mo end up playing the 5).

How about run him with the second unit with the ball in his hands as a sort of Charlotte-version of Anthony Mason, but have Toney Douglas or perhaps Gary Forbes defend those guys listed? I think that sounds interesting on paper at least (or in text i guess).

Morris was in street clothes. It defintley had nothing to do with his play, prob because of the 9 stitches he got the previous game.
