Asik isn't a very tradeable contract. If he comes out and performs well, sure, but until then, that contract is not being moved. Backups do get better than him. There's a reason he is 4th in the Bulls rotation at PF/C.
We are stacked at the PF position. Back in the early Yao days, it was our biggest weakness. Camby is a more proven player and the Knicks are idiots.
Jonathan_Feigen The Rockets have waived Jon Leuer and Jerome Jordan. When they clear waivers, Rockets will sign Omer Asik to offer sheet.
Bulls are just scared Morey may raise the price on them like he did to the Knicks, that's all this is.
You guys are undervaluing interior defense. At worst that is what Asik will provide. That, paired with Donuts Offense and spread the floor type of game... should work well together... And after watching the 4 summer league games where half of our team is currently playing, the major thing we lack is... you guessed it, Interior Defense
Lol at BKLYN taking 3 bad contracts back... No way Kid, they were trying to convince CLE to do that for them because they couldn't
MIAMI's picks AKA 2 2nd rounders and Waiters and Zeller cannot be traded until December... so in other words all the Cavs have is two first round picks to offer and Thompson... Yep Houston can easily top that deal for Bynum
Omer Asik has been stuck at the end of a bench that is stacked at the post positions. That is why he hasn't been playing! Do we remember a certain player named Marcin Gortat who was at the end of the bench in Orlando? We went after him hard and decided his asking price was higher than we were willing. He got signed by Phoenix, is starting now and is averaging 15 ppg, 10 rpg, and 1.5 bpg. He is nowhere on the same level defensively as Asik. If Morey is willing to spend that much for Asik, I'm sure there is a reason why...
He was actually signed by the Mavs as a RFA and the Magic matched it. Same thing would have happened had the Rockets gave him as much as they could have (Full MLE) like the Mavs gave him.
Waiters and Zeller can be traded 30 days after they signed their rookie contract. Look it up in the new CBA rules.
Miami's picks are late 1st rounders, I don't dismiss that. Wiaters/Zeller can be traded in August (Just like DMo).
Yes, he was 4th in the rotation. They would play Gibson and Boozer together at times. Watch some games.
