Tony Mejia: "@kevinajones7:OK, so once HOU gets all their OS stuff ironed out w/Asik, how soon before we finally end #dwightmare?" Next week at earliest 3 minutes ago

Tony Mejia: Despite talks of #Lakers being Howard's destination, the chances of that has been and continues to be unlikely. Andrew Bynum wants to stay. about 6 minutes ago

The problem with Bucher is that he doesn't even try to read between the lines. He takes whatever he's given and runs with it as fact, which leads to everyone under the sun (agents, teams, etc.) using him.

The Magic's MO is fairly clear by now. They leak deals they aren't particularly interested in to use as leverage on teams they are interested in. I mean, just think this through. They had no interest in Kris Humphries and are seeking to get rid of bad contracts, but supposedly they'd like Varejao, a middling big man on a multi-year contract worth nearly $10 mil/year? They want draft picks, but they're more intrigued by ones from Cleveland (who, with Irving/Bynum, would be a playoff team) than the guaranteed lottery pick from Toronto? They want prospects, but they're more intrigued by non-Waiters (he signed) youth on Cleveland than Jeremy Lamb?

This is mind-numbingly obvious stuff, but Bucher's basically a robot and refuses to do any sort of critical thinking. Disappointing that ESPN allows this.

ESPN cares about viewership. If there were no "new" stories for Bucher to put out there about other teams being close why would people bother watching?

True, but I think there's a way to combine in these stories what he's told by "sources" with a little bit of critical thought and/or common sense. That's what he refuses to do and ends up making him look idiotic.

Maybe they could do other programming other than Sportscenter 15 hours a day. I wish they didn't have any contracts to show actual games so I could just ignore them completely.

    Thank you!

Year 9 would be making 36.9 mil? Is that the most ever in NBA history??

ESPN is bar background noise. Its something on the wall that gives drunk people something to argue about.

Kobe is set to make $30.5MM next year, so I think Howard has the potential to set a new mark

Glad Morey can just handle other business and wait for Orlando to get serious about trading Howard. Right now they are just f'ing around and wasting time.

So for those that want to keep these unproven rookies solely based on upside, the Rockets might have to eat some nasty contracts to keep them if they trade for Dwight.

ReTweet. It's kind of complicated. The second part of the tweets in this post are the questions, and the 1st part are the answers. It's kind of backwards.

    The convo is like this:

@Ackleydad4350 says: reports says Houston will not take back all those bad contracts.

Larry Coon replies: From what I'm hearing, they're willing to take back the bad contracts and keep their young guys, or find a happy medium between the two.

@CoryHughey asks: Are these Lakers/Cavs/Magic rumors just an attempt to get Houston to up the ante?

Larry Coon replies: That kind of stuff has been happening since this whole thing started.

I would take on the extra bad contracts if it meant keeping our rooks.

But I wonder what that would look like in terms of playing time.

What's funny is the entire premise for Bucher's latest spin has already been debunked (and wasn't exactly hidden info, either):

    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8...rs-trade-partner-potential-dwight-howard-deal

    From the Cleveland Plain-Dealer:

Hate to put a damper on those hot, new Bynum-to-Cleveland rumors, but GM Chris Grant returned to CLE for Kyrie Irving's surgery, not trade.

    https://twitter.com/pdcavsinsider

Uh, yeah Ric. Not exactly shocking news that a GM would return home when his franchise player is undergoing surgery. Of course, to figure that out, you'd have to do something besides toss out every wild rumor you hear from agents/executives without thought, and that's too much for Bucher.

Last report from Feigan on the offer was -

    -One bad contract
    -One Rookie
-One or Two First Round picks (Toronto and Dallas pick implied)
    -Kevin Martin expiring contract
-Slew of nonguaranteed contracts- Livingston, Harrellson, etc.

Follow up from that was- Houston basically told Orlando to go try and find an offer that was better than that, and get back with them.

-Now Its obvious that they are trying to tell Houston that LA's trade proposal, and the Cleveland trade are better offers than Houston's offer in order to get Houston to come up in price.

Obviously, Morey doesn't buy it, knows they still have the best offer, and Orlando still continues to find deals they can leak to the media and make Morey feel like they are not going to get Howard anymore unless he ups the offer.

This is a complicated game of Poker, and its all about whose bluffing, and who actually has a hand on the table. Only in this game you can see everyone else's bets before you raise your own bet. Unless another team has an Ace of spades in their back pocket Morey should have the best hand to play. Whether or not he chooses to go all in is his decision. I just hope he makes the right one.

A part of me feels like the way the rooks have been playing in summer league will make the Magicquicker in dealing with us. I mean they're probably salivating over someone like Royce, Lamb or Jones. This will also allow us to keep a few of the young guys out of those 3 and Parsons.

I feel like in the end we'll be a part of something. Cleveland just doesnt seem attractive to me.
