    Melo, JR calling contract ridiculous:

"I was surprised. What players usually do is be happy for another player who gets paid. Rarely see players take negative stances on other players successes as far as when it comes to contracts. May have been underlying issues that people don't know about. May have been resentment for Melo, being asked if he could fit in with Jeremy."

"I think the overriding thing was financial. Think the way he went back to get the 2nd deal to make it harder on the Knicks played into it."

Why did Jeremy Lin do that?

"It may show or may indicate he didn't want to be in NY, wanted to make it as difficult as possible. May instead have been he thought they'd match anything."

"When you have a deal that the team says we're gonna match, then you go back and renegotiate to make it more, from the Knicks perspective, how much of a difference is there between Lin and Felton. They concluded Felton."

How good is Lin gonna be?

"Range is from a very good backup to a very good starter. Small sample size, nobody truly knows where he's gonna fall in."

"Many factors of Linsanity was that he had ample opportunity to shine. Asian American, Harvard graduate, undrafted. Other mitigating factor is the New York factor. Would same factors minus New York have led to Linsanity in Houston?"

"He's going to be very good in some role in the NBA. He'll have ample opportunity with Rockets because no PGs."

"He'll get a lot of touches, lot of pick and roll."

"I thought it was absurd people asking Melo if he could fit in with Lin instead of vice versa. Melo a premier offensive talent."

    Has Dwightmare become a mockery?

"Howard a top 5 MVP candidate every year because of defense, rebounding. Raw offense but still 18-22 pts a game."

"Mockery part, he's gotten off track from who he is. At heart a good guy who was well raised. Lost his way a little bit. Needs a truth teller, someone who despite your fame, popularity, money, need somebody to tell you, you're doing it wrong."

"Needs to get back to who he is. Who he is, he's a great player. Lost a lot of popularity because of bad decisions, but can get right back to it if he does a thorough self evaluation."

-Thinks Lin at worst will be an average role player and at best be a very good starter
-Dwight is a good person deep down but has had bad advice turning him into something he's not
-He is not sure if Lin wanted to leave New York or not because he came back to Rox for the 2nd offer.

    Thank you for the recap.
On Howard, JVG sounded like he stuck it to DH for his brother first and then a little pat just in case he will be back coaching in the near future. Typical JVG!

or did Rox go back to Lin, sweeten the offer, and then push the Knicks?

Who would have said 'No'? I mean, what player? What person on the receiving end of the offer? C'mon.

Rockets have every right to redo the contract with Lin before it was inked. The Knicks acted so mad alleging the Rockets and Lin did them dirty on the 2nd try. This is just classless. Rockets took advantage of Knicks bad decisions over the years, just that. The fact that Rockets didnt offer the same contract at first try shows the Rockets werent sure if the first offer was enough to dissuade the Knicks. In fact, it was Mike Woodson himself told the media that they would match the first offer. Morey figured that we really want Lin give the PG shortage after trade and Knicks have a big loophole at the end of 3rd year. On that calculation, Morey redid the terms of the offer sheet, before it was accepted. Y Lin. This is just good business move, nothing shady about that or bad faith. The rockets and Knicks are two competing bidders for Lin. Knicks are just classless for acting as if they were so mad. The truth is they were mad because Morey found that loophole and put the Knocks on the Burner. At least they should also be mad at the bad personnel decisions over the years that let them into this mess. Business is business, rockets didn't do anything in bad faith here.

Lin will be the biggest mistake since Kelvin Cato. Its sad as a Rocket fan. The good thing is he'll probably be the reason Morey will eventually be fired

Good of Colin to acknowledge that JVG once coached the Rockets.
I am used to ESPN just calling him an ex-coach of the Knicks.

I am so tired of this bull about lin telling the rox to give him more money and morey agreeing to it simply because lin asked. Do ppl think gms give away six mil just because the guy asked for it?? The knicks told eveyone they would match the first offer. Morey saw this and decided to increase the offer with or without lins input. Assuming he gave him extra money just because lin asked is simply r****ded.

"r****ded" is a synonym for "Knicks Front Office"...

Does anyone know how having Lin makes money for the Rockets. Other than the obvious of selling more tickets. Do they make more money if they're on national TV. If a lot of Rocket's jerseys are sold in China, is the money split evenly to all NBA teams, or do the Rockets get a higher per cent. Someone said that the Rockets only make a higher per cent on shirts actually sold at TC. Is this true?

Jvg tells it like it is. Love the melo jealousy insight. Just shows again why Melo is not a player you want to build around.

Apparently most of New York City. LOL.

I find it ironic that in a city that is built on greed, its residents find Lin's action despicable.
