the guy is legit, I've held back info he's told me for his benefit, he was the one that told me about the 790 switch like 5 mins before chron.com posted it. he's been on the money so far, other than a Luther Head for Sean Williams trade he told me, but that wouldn't mater regardless....
Can't give up D-Mo.... as far as I know. He just signed so he isn't available for trade for a while (6 months?)...
Understood, we send the next available pic though. I don't think they would want them all in one year. No other package would offer Orlando that many 1st round picks with at least 1 garunteed lottery pick.
cyberx, thanks for the info. While you're here and engaged, I have a question on a related topic. There's lots of conjecture on this board that agents don't like Morey, and don't like dealing with him. Do you see that, or is that just overblown speculation?
well since u are calling him a scrub .... id imagine your expectations should be pretty low .. so id say he is already living up to them
morey is putting together a nice roster. i mean... this is going to be a completely different team, full of youth and potential - and he's done it all in one off-season. and he isn't going to overpay for a role player or give away the farm to land a rental. just when lots of clutchfans started to doubt morey, he has a wildly successful off-season - proving once again that we have one of the best GMs in the game.
...so if I'm correct here we have 4 main players: Orlando - obviously has all the leverage with Dwight - the most talented player in the transaction Houston - has the most flexibility to remake Orlando with picks, youth, contract absorption. Can make the trade or can facilitate. LA - has the closest trade chip talent wise to Dwight in Bynum but little else(Ebanks & Hill) but needs a trade partner Cleveland - can facilitate a trade by offering essentially a package similar(maybe not as good) as what Houston is offering. Probably can't offer enough to be a sole trade partner as Houston's offer would beat theirs but they can facilitate a trade with LA. Dwight's Agent Fegan - obviously he has some leverage here and probably stands to make more money overall sending Dwight to the largest market possible. ...so my question is who has the leverage here? Obviously Orlando holds the rights to Howard but assuming Orlando has to trade Howard, who is ultimately deciding what happens? Does Orlando really value Ebanks and Hill that much more over anything Houston has(Patterson, and pick one of our 8 wings) to make them a serious consideration? How realistic is it that Cleveland would become involved in a 3 way trade? How much influence does Fegan have in swaying Orlando to trading him to LA over Hou? Does the Dwight camp value the international appeal Houston offers with the asian community?
Overblown... Guy is real and personable. People love that he is upfront and honest. He has worked great with us and has done a great job. I think where you are getting mixed up is that agents aren't big fans of McHale. He did some things that were not right when a GM. Players and agents talk to coaches a lot more then you think. McHale isn't the most personable and to be honest, he is kind of an A-Hole. Same can be said with Phil Jackson. MANY years ago when they made the new CBA and players were allowed to be amnestied. (they called it I believe the Allan Houston rule in the media) A player of ours was cut and wanted to go to the Lakers (mutual interest). When the player talked to Phil, Phil straight up asked him, "where did you go to school again?" I am not familiar with your past. The player was so upset that Phil saw him as just some pee on and didn't do his HW to try to persuade the player to come. In the end he obviously didn't pick the Lakers.
how does Motiejunas have way more upside than Jones? Jones has a better handle and is more athletic. Motiejunas runs the floor better and has a better post game. They have about the same range - not quite out to the 3 yet. Id say their potential is about the same.
