I wonder why the Bulls would tell Morey they're not going to match before we even send the offer sheet? Did they learn from the Lin situation? NYK saw our offer and said "we'll match", so we upped it. Are they trying to lower the amount poison in the pill? Seems pointless for Morey to get all excited over a non-binding statement from the Bulls like that.
This is what Morey should offer in the trade take it or leave it Magic. Also, if the Rockets can get another 1st rounder for Lee and throw that in instead of any of the current draft picks.
I actually think that if LA lets go of BOTH Bynum and Gasol and only get back Howard then we could actually contend with them. They would push out a lineup of Nash Bryant World Peace Jamison Howard no bench..... We would throw out Lin Lamb Parsons DMO Bynum bench TJones or White depending on who gets traded.. In the long run we would be able to give them hell due to our youth. Nash and Bryant probably have 2 more years in the NBA. World Peace and Jamison probably have 1 or 2 more years in LA. Our starting 5 can remain for 5+ years. We have 2 seven footers, DMo moves to his natural position. Parsons and Lamb rotating on guarding Kobe and Bynum and Howard going at it for the next few years. I think it would be interesting to see. Now albeit Lamb DMO and Lin could bust and Bynum could be a headcase. But Dwight may not resign Nash and Kobe may not work and Jamison could continue to look as though he shouldn't be in the NBA no longer. Just my thoughts though.
Orlando does love Lamb, this I know. But if you think about it, who wouldn't? Guy is a stud. I have things that are concrete, BUT, some of the stuff I have pieced together with the info I have been told. Adidas is pushing for Dwight to go to LA. Dwight is also trying to get in more movies etc... Dwight is just so scared that he may be getting terrible advice again that he is getting cold feet. He has been given terrible advice in the past and now is skeptical on many levels.
I know this is just an example but I just wanted to put out there, the Rockets can't put up their own picks in trades until we honor the pick we owe to Atlanta that originally owed to the Nets before they traded it to them. We can give up the Dallas pick and Toronto but not any of our own due to protection rules.
This is the only way I'd feel ok about facilitating DH to LA- if we end up with Bynum and Gasol. Otherwise, F them.
Good point on everyone loving Lamb, which is why I am asking. I'm hoping Morey gives up Martin/Morris/2pat/any pick they want in a deal for Bynum but I don't see Morey being opposed to trading Lamb either. Just hoping he doesn't.
Ask Dave2000 (sp) He knows I am legit. Met him randomly at the ASG in Dallas. Hooked my man up with seats and invited him to some parties. Specifically the NBPLA Party.
So if Dwight is so scared he is getting terrible advice is he willing to fire his agent? Or is he just going to make up his own mind, but in the event that Dwight does Dwight, what will THAT look like? The guy has flip flopped on his stance more times than I can count on my fingers, so what is to say he won't again? I'm assuming the relationship between Dwight and the Magic is irreparable, so where does he go from there? He can't still think Brooklyn is a realistic option, can he?
I see your point there. Yet, I don't understand why we'd still take back 2 bad contracts in the deal while we receive the 2nd best player in the deal. I do understand giving up less prospects but I still wouldn't even consider giving up all that for, essentially, a Bynum deal. Plus the Lakers would have to go all the way out to past whatever future picks they give Phoenix for Nash, to make that work. So when would that be 2017?
Dont blame them. He is looking great. Would be a harsh price for us to pay. He was drafted ready to play. Needs to work on his defense, but those long arms are killer. He has both a smooth touch and ability to take it to the rim. So much promise.
Lakers have zero picks to trade. Turkoglu is a partial guarantee for about $6M. Duhon is guaranteed for $1-$1.5M IIRC. To me, most logical 3 team deal sends: Hou: Bynum, JRich LAL: Howard, Davis, QRich ORL: Martin & all non-guaranteed and expirings from LAL & HOU In a 2nd deal, Houston sends Livingston to Orlando for Duhon. As I mentioned previously in this thread, I think involving a 4th team, or seeing if Ron Artest would void his option (or Orlando take him back) would allow ORL to shed all those contracts. I don't see Artest voiding his final year, and I don't see Orlando taking him back without it (they'd probably just as well keep Turk). Edit: Obviously my deal would also include a combination of rookies/picks, but that is harder to speculate.
